I'm becoming even more of a fan of this wonderful brand. Check out THIS customer service from the members section of the corporate web site: The story of every IWC watch starts long before it becomes its owner's lifetime companion, either strapped around the wrist or snuggling in a waistcoat pocket: instead it starts with its development and manufacture. And sometimes it can be a painful experience to bid farewell to your beloved watch. That is why, as early as the 19th century, we had the idea of never completely forgetting our watches but of devoting a book to them instead. Since 1882, we have not only engraved every IWC movement with the individual movement number and calibre type. We have also entered all the details such as reference, calibre, material, case number, the date on which it left the factory and the recipient or watch distributor in the company's own register. In this way, anyone who inherits or purchases a second-hand IWC watch can find out all the details about it from us. Would you like to know how old your IWC watch is or who the first owner was? If your watch is more than 10 years old then we will gladly send you an extract from the register. If you would like to know approximately how old your watch is, then you can see a summary here. _______ Here's another reason:

Aye, Aye, gang. I am seeing converts to this great brand here on the WTF and that makes me feel good about my decision some time ago to only collect these outstanding watches.

So should a lot of companies. They actually care about their clients.

BTW, will IWC service vintage models? I keep hearing how Rolex will not service older models any longer.

as always. nice IWC dress watch. and yes, more companies should learn from IWC. there's something 'unique' about IWC. mysterious in a good way that is also endearing to us all, I suppose.

IWC, as far as I know, is the only pedigreed Swiss manufacturer founded by an American. The founder went to Switzerland, started the company (it isn't in the main watchmaking region) and started a training program to increase the number of watchmakers. IWC is a successful brand that has always been a little outside of the mainstream Swiss watchmaking world.

IWC was started by an American? Are they also American owned?
