I realise this is probably a little off topic, but what watch/es would you pick if you couldn't have Omega. Personally I would go with one of the Sinn Chronos or a Kobold Tactical in black, I really must be a secret Valjoux fan.

Not exactly a replacement for Omega, but I also have been looking pretty hard at the Sinn offerings. I really appreciate the excellent visibility, the super-hard case treatment, and complete lack of "Bling" on these, possibly the last of the great 'tool' watches. They tell time accurately They are easy to read no matter what the lighting situation They will look great forever The cost is VERY reasonable They resist HUGE magnetic fields They won't go out of style If you want bling, you have to move on. If you want (arguably) the best for current production tool watches, I think you'd have a very hard time beating the Sinn stuff.

What? ?? No Omega? I think I would go shave my head bald, cut off my ear, wear a hair shirt, walk through the dessert for forty days and forty nights and then hang myself. No Omega? ? What an awfully unthinkable proposition. Or I could just sneak mine away and take it out to admire and fondle it secretly in the dead of night. Y'all have a nice weekend now ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

For me, Hamilton is the closest substitute (albeit a downgrade).
But along the lines of what Zin is getting at, a world without Omega is like a world without pie. Unfathomable.

It would be like there was no more music in this world ;D ;D ;D No more joy, glee and fun A land where there is much gnashing of teeth Nah, scenario aborted and if it were to happen I would go underground and establish my own Omega shrine where refugees from the land of darkness and gloom would seek shelter and solace Give me your hungry, your poor, those who seek horological enlightenment and harmony Want me to go on? ;D ;D ;D Be well and be seein' ya pals ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

No Omega option.....*calls 911 for Mr. Houston*...... ;D ;D ;D ;D
For me, if Omega were not an option, then I would look to Omega or Ball for my next watch. I do not know much about IWC; but, I would look at those as well, as I always hear good things about them.
