Take your time Wautersjr... The more I think about this question the more beautiful timepieces come up in my mind... What about a nice Girard-Perregaux ? They make stunning watches as well..

Well, they are not cheap for sure, but if you go vintage and have some luck.. there are still some good deals out there.. This one cought my attention not too long ago.... I think it looks awesome, but I know nothing about the price of this one... But if there was no Omega, this one would make a good chance.. ;D BTW these beautiful pictures where made by Michael Sandler

They are expensive. This one, is platinum and in excess of 30K. Others are 24K but not much information about prices appear to be readily available. They require you to email or make contact for information which is something that annoys me since if they'd like to sell the watch, what then is the big secret? If they are offering discounts, why not list the MSRP and then ask that those who may be interested to make contact besides which anyone hankering to part with that sort of money probably wouldn't be horse-trading on the price anyway. FPJ used to have a banner on another site ( may still do ) and I marveled and was always intrigued by the impression that a lot of the art of a craftsman has gone into their watches. They're very nice but I've never seen the point in paying megabucks for a watch and think that my money could have been put to some other good use out in the world. Back in the 60s when I was little I recall my mum mentioning Girard-Perregeaux as being good watches. Never gave any thought to it till I was hunting around as a young WIS and came across them. Boy what did mum ever see in them? I thought they looked ugly. The ones I saw anyway. Then I discovered Omega for myself as opposed to having been given one. You know the rest guys. Y'all be well now ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

Hello... I believe I would stick with a very old Ardath watch that was given to my grandmother as a payment for something, then passed on to my mother and then to me. It is a gold watch, manual wounding and it still runs without a problem.
Cheers,

I enjoy Omega, but the only brand I'm loyal to in a single-minded way is Mrs. Boscoe! Otherwise, variety is the spice of life. No Omega, plenty of other great watch brands out there. Truth is I prefer Clerc and Bedat to Omega. Better fit and finish, but they don't have in-house movements.

Houston has a Seiko (are there no certainties in life anymore ) No wonder Omega has not picked him yet for Ambassador, he was purchasing competitor's products! ;D
