Spotted this thread on another forum, thought it would be nice to post it here as well.
So, what do you think measures up to current Omegas?

Ditto.
Nothing I've seen has the range that Omega offers. Don't get me wrong, a lot of brands make a lot of nice watches. Just look at the AT Chrono with the blue hands and markers. If that watch didn't have any branding on it and had just plain black or silver hands. It would look like a run of the mill Seiko, Sekonda or Rotary watch. Omega then applies that gorgeous blue to the hands and markers and makes it one of the most stunning watches ever. That's what Omega does so well. Takes the ordinary and makes it extraordinary.

Ok, I might catch some flack here for this but my NEW/USED Seiko SUMO could be renamed SEIKO SEAMASTER, ok no Sapphire crystal, & no HE Valve & only 200mWR, but this is one nice watch, case etc, plus I was able to regulate the 6r15 movt to w/ COSC specs, plus I know that Duratae can Install a Sapphire Crystal, now all I am waiting for is BIll Yao to make some new Dials for the Sumo, Bill Yao noted MAYBE next year. Thanks Bill in IL (billa1967@sbcglobal.net)

OK GJ... At the risk of getting ray-gunned by the bloooo Smurfster, Here you go... I'll just pick one company to compare (gotta ease the guy into these kind of threads, ya know?) And yes - it's the BBB Company, Brietling!! Another company enriched with a fantastic history, started by a single family putting their heart & soul into each watch, never losing sight of those roots. A company providing a greatly crafted product. When I look at my Breitlings, I see the same detail, craftsmanship & care that Omega's have. From the bracelets & their highly polished finish, to the case with their fantastic lines. And the Bezels, a work of art. I love the look of the rider tabs & side screws, each of them a separate part of their own. The dial with the clean crisp print, contrasting colors and very ascetically pleasing designs (on most ). And then on the inside you have a workhorse of a movement, guaranteed to give you decades of performance. Ok, I'll leave it to that for now so Zin can just dip his toes in to start.. After all, we know he won't dive in... ;D
