Hi all. Can anyone shed any light on the rumours that Daniel Craig will be wearing more than 1 particular Omega in Casion Royale?
And by the way, does anybody actually know for sure what the choice of watch will be??? Many rumours over standard SMP, then moving onto PO??? Can anyone help?
Best wishes

This from the UK official Bond site ,I'm sure they will keep the suspense as long as they can : Stephen Urquhart, President, Omega spoke to The Business Line highlighting the departure of Pierce Brosnan. “He doesn't just stop being Bond. He also stops being the Omega brand ambassador by the end of the year. James Bond, the character, is Omega's international ambassador, not Brosnan himself, says Omega's Urquhart. Omega will also be a part of the new Bond movie; it has three Bond movies under its belt. Not giving away anything, Urquhart says Omega will star in a different way from its earlier roles in the Bond movies, a PO model may be the one chosen rather that the mighty SM.”

Hi Haj
From that wrist watch you just posted, are you convinced that Daniel Craig will wear Black PO on black rubber strap?
Kind regards

My Local AD told me that they had a flyer or release (though they couldn't find it at the time) that says (or perhaps shows that) Daniel Craig is wearing the black PO. As to whether thats the only Omega he wears during the film, they didn't know. So much film is left on the cutting room floor that the final movie release may not contain scenes that have so far been seen on the web.

I have seen pics of him wearing the black 42mm PO on a strap. I hope they will incorporate the SMP as well.

I don't know about you guys but I would've swayed towards Daniel Craig wearing the black 2254 Seamaster as the new Bond. I just feel it would of been logical in the sense that the 2254 came after the original Blue Bond SMP, and IMHO is a better looking, classer and more versatile watch for all of the things that James Bond does (save the world and bed beautiful women) than the original Blue Bond Seamaster. The 2254 harks back to the good old look of the old school divers watches and I personally feel would of been the best choice for Bond to upgrade to in Casino Royale (and beyone) - even though the 2254 is now in it's 6th year I believe?
As for the PO, I am seriously loving this watch and could totally understand if this is the new watch of James Bond, but I think in a traditional sense the 2254 would of been the best choice!
What do you guys think? Do you think Bond should stick with the Seamaster for the up and coming films, or if they ever do another film like "Moonraker" again would you like to see Bond switching over to a Speedmaster or something?
Kind regards and best wishes

Totally agree with you what you're saying Zin about the PO brings things bang up to date. That is one of the major reasons I could see that being the new James Bond watch and also a major opportnity for Omega to accelerate their PO line even further.
But as a side question, as most people I speak to prefer the 2254 over the Bond Blue SMP, do you think if the 2254 would of already been available when the Blue SMP came out, do you think we may of seen the 2254 as the Pierce Brosnan choice of Bond when he started his stint as Commander Bond?
Questions, questions I know! lol! ;D
Kind regards

Hi JPS I think the 2254.50 came out after the Bond. But I know someone who may have further insight on this - our esteemed patron and fearless leader!!! Then of course EL Boscoe's journalistic and investigative skills should not be overlooked Best ZIN

Hi guys - I don't know how many of you have seen/read this on Dell Deaton's Blog, but here it is:
"The Omega press release identifies it as, and I quote, the "OMEGA Seamaster 300 M Diver Chronometer." No model number is given; however, Omega goes out of its way to state that this is "the OMEGA" (as opposed to any other Omega, I suppose), "so closely associated with the iconic British secret agent that people all over the world walk into OMEGA stores asking for 'the Bond watch.'"
With such pronounced emphasis on the "the" here, and tying that to the model in stores that customers have been asking for, this can only mean reference to the model 2531.80 Seamaster."
"Again, in defining the Casino Royale timepiece, Omega goes out of its way three times to characterize this as a singular James Bond watch: They say "the model" and "the OMEGA" (emphasis added) in the product description. Moreover, Omega clearly states that Casino Royale will feature "none other." No reading between the lines on that one.
So— the Seamaster 2535.80 GMT that it resumed promoting as a James Bond watch within a week after its March 7 eMail to me stating that it had removed this advertisement from its website, is, in truth, not a James Bond watch. And— the high resolution images I posted from the sets of Casino Royale filming are not, um, ...
Something tells me that we're about to enter yet another very interesting stage of advertising claims and verification here."

Hi
I am new to this forum and forums in general. However I am getting a bit more $ together to purchase my first Swiss watch and I feel Omega is the one for me. A Blue Bond Seamaster model 2531.80 seems to be.......me! Yes I do like the Planet Ocean 45.5mm in Black on the bracelet but this one is out of my price range for now anyway. Anyway in my deliberation I had some emails back and forth to Omega Marketing people here in Australia and I was told just recently that Daniel Craig will be wearing the new Blue Bond Co-axial Seamaster model # 2220.80.00 in the new Bond film `Casino Royale' released in late november this year. However the price will be $1025 more than the current Blue Bond Seamaster 2531.80.00 which will then be phased out sometime after. So given that I feel that the 2531.80 seamaster will still be a popular and sort after watch. What do you guys reckon? Any thoughts or advise?
