Greetings Rolex Fans! I decided to put an article together detailing everything I knew about what's changed over the past three years or so when you buy a new Rolex (changes in packaging, paperwork, case back stickers, etc.). Here's a link to the article: www.rolexreferencepage.com/changes/changes.htmlAs always, reply to this message with any comments or questions. Enjoy!

Thanks John, enjoyed the article (as usual). Very informative. Now... are those photos of your watch... and did you purchase yet another Daytona?

John,
Well done - there's a wealth of information there that new buyers can use. Often times, AD's are so poor at sharing this information, it becomes frustrating.
Thanks for doing your part to educate the WIS community!

Thanks John, enjoyed the article (as usual). Very informative. Now... are those photos of your watch... and did you purchase yet another Daytona? A couple of those photos are of watches that were sent to me for review...neither of the GMTs are mine, nor is the all gold DJ mine. But the rest are. ;D

Very cool. BTW, when you get a new Presidential, don't you also get a pen as well?
Also, I am not to sure I like the Rolex inscription on the inside bezel for the Datejusts. Makes the watch to busy.

When are you going to purchase a GMT John? Your sports Rolex collection isn't complete without one.

Am I the only one that seems to be having trouble with the Rolex Reference Page website?
edited to add: I just tried again and everything seems to be working fine. Weird.

I'm not precisely sure, but I do think the pen has been discontinued. All that money for a watch, and they can not even provide a pen. They even stopped the anchors with the Subs. Are Rolex profits that bad? ;D Seriously, they are raising the prices, cutting back on promos, and I hear stories that they refuse to service vintage watches unlike Patek. What gives?

Well, the service issue certainly sticks in the craw of a lot of folks but there's really nothing they can do about it. Rolex watches are tremendously popular.....far more so by volume than Pateks. The demand for vintage parts far outstrips supply. Keep in mind that for years people actually complained about the anchors because they served no useful purpose.
