Okay. If you read the Invicta forum, I've been telling people that my watch buying was on hold until my Hamilton from Sam's Club came back from the Service Center with a new battery, courtesy of Sam's Club. Well, night before last, I decided that I was tired of the lines and contours of the "modern" watches and that I wanted to find watches with the body features of watches from the sixties, or thereabouts. So I searched Amazon high and low and found nothing in my price range, not even an Invicta Vintage. Well, today I went into Sam's Club to check on my Hamilton, when i saw a watch with contoured look I was looking for and it was a chronograph to boot. It was an ESQ (how do you pronounce that?), and it was about $60 above my usual cutoff price and a good $70 above the cost of the Hamilton. Well, I just could not resist, regardless of the strain it might put on the budget. Yes, this watch has modern features: the large date windows at the 12 o'clock position, a Swiss Quartz movement, etc., but there is also the contours I mentioned above and the gently curved mineral crystal. I may also be able to afford the Hamilton when it comes in, too. I'm not the best photographer, but here's some pix. Comments regarding ESQ are welcome--positive and negative. The texture of the watch face is not clear in these reduced images, but this feature also adds to the beauty of the watch face.

Great looking watch! ESQ has some excellent watches available these days. I have a yellow dialed diver that I got a few months ago. Enjoy!

@grady, ESQ makes great quality products for the price paid. My wife has a 30mm quartz chrono with similar styling to yours (no big date) and she loves it. The polished finish on it really sparkles.

Very nice. I always like chronos that have the same colored sub-dials as the main dial for a more subtle look.

ESQ is the secondary brand of one of the well-known makers, but I can't remember who right now. Like Tudor is to Rolex, if you catch my drift. Very nice pieces, at a more reasonable price point. Someone will chime in with the 'parent' campany here I'm sure... I just can't remember who it is right now! Love the bog date- I think this is a feature I would like to have on my next purchase? Who knows. I seem to be all over the map with ideas lately, and no money to buy anything! Oh, Christmas is coming soon too!

Thanks for the comments.
I was shocked today to find on the ESQ website that this is a $495 MSRP watch.
A look around the internet showed that while discounts are available online, it is not unusual for this watch to be sold by local retailers for full price.
I paid significantly less.

Yeah, I'm really liking my ESQ Quest a lot.
It's the combination of overall retro-look and the modern riffs on classic themes that I think gets me about this watch.
I'm not sure what it is with this watch thing, but it's like meeting a bunch of people, having them become old friends and then once in a while there's one you have a genuine romance with.
I've been in love before, but each time is like the first time.
