I mentioned elsewhere I visited a new Tourneau store yesterday. Talk about sticker shock! They don't steeply discount their new pieces, which is fine since they're ADs. But their used pieces are outrageously priced. Omegas, Breitlings, Rolex, TAGS etc. are selling for what you can purchase a NIB gray market version for. Sometimes more. This isn't a plug, but ALL of our sponsors offer far better deals.

There is one opening soon near me in the middle of an estasblished AD rich area where discounts are not too hard to come by. I think they're in for a bit of a shock unless they run this store differntly from how I hear most others are run. If they don't offer competitive discounts and hire a fairly knowledgeable sales staff they are in for a rude awakening. Especially when I go in and work my magic. ;D

Tourneau opened a store in a factory discount center near me this year. The prices on new watches are steeply discounted, but their choices seem limited to whatever Tourneau sends them rather than full lines. I got nearly 50% off a new Tissot, more than my long-time AD, who gives me maximum discounts. The used prices at the store are OK, but nothing you can't get from one of the sponsors of this site.

boscoe, you're absolutely right about the prices on the pre-owned. There are 2 Tourneaus on Long Island that I check out all the time but I've never bought anything from them. The prices are what you would pay for new. One time I tried to trade in a ladies Rolex against a Breitling. They offered me $1500 (it was worth $2500) and NO discount on the Breitling. But if I bought the Breitling outright they would give me a discount.

Hey Bos, That's been my experience here too with them. Used prices are just WOW! They recently had a pre-owned LV sub and was asking $6,800. Never mind the AD across the mall had a BNIB one for MSRP (5,500)...

A used, excuse me, pre-owned, LV for $6800? That is nuts. If anyone wants to give me that money for mine, you can have it. I will then go get another one, and pickup an HDTV on the way home with the extra money.

My local Tourneau will dicker a bit on the used pieces, but I haven't seen anything in there that I either can afford or can't live without (this is a very narrow range). Occasionally they will have a watch in the used case that is new. They periodically get watches from other Tourneaus that are ADs in their area, but my local is not an AD in my area (the joy of protected markets).
I'll be shopping at Tourneau however since they accept Amex Membership Rewards points. With all my travel in the past couple years I'd accumulated a nice treasure chest of points. If you call the MR number you can redeem points for $500 Tourneau gift certificates. Six or seven certs goes a long way towards my next purchase.

They also take trade ins! No word on what they give for an Invicta Japanese Pro Diver...
