Mike my man, selling the GMT II? Are you looking at the cost of service and deciding just to sell and put the money toward that Yachty you want?

Oh Mike, don't buy a Breitling. At least not at the expense of your GMTII.
I know they probably smile at you, but for the money there are far more horologically impressive watches than Breitling.
If I were you and wanted to finance a new watch via a GMTII, I'd go for a JLC Master Compressor, a Glashutte, a Blancpin... so many others.
I hope I don't offend, but Breitlings just don't impress me and I find their dials EXTREMELY busy. I'd rather have one Rolex than a drawer full of Brietlings.

...me, too !! The Navitimer is a beautuful watch, but I have a hard time telling what time it is when I look at the dial...no disrespect intended...just another man's opinion. That being said, I have a client who is an accomplished private pilot.....he loves all his Breitlings and certainly has the means to purchase whatever he wants....he will buy anything with "wings" on it...shirts, hats, Kentucky Fried Chicken...by the way, he recently purchased a new Breitling in Jamaica on a business trip....wore the watch home to avoid the tariffs, and had the dealer send the empty box and paperwork at a later date...well, guess what? Customs impounded the empty box/papers and sent him a bill for the duty! So much for skirting the system!

I've seen some models I wouldn't mind owning (of course that's true of SEVERAL different brands) including the Navitimer. But, overall I agree - if I'm going to spend that kind of money, I want it to be horologically more interesting. John

Not that I'm biased, but I'm with you all the way Mike. I love my Sub and my Seamaster, but I think my Breitling's are going to continue to take top spot on my winder. I'm due in a month for the birth of my new baby Chrono Avenger. Well, its not such a baby I guess since it will be the largest watch I own. Here's a current quick family shot. Perhaps I can send out Christmas cards of them by the fireplace.

Well, lets see. Let me adjust my slide rule to I can tell you the time and then calculate the square root of the time . Besides, you don't always look at your watch just to tell the time... You think my Navitimer is bad for finding the time, how about my friend's Datora:

Don't get me wrong, the busy dials are impressive, but I'm more a 'less is more' kinda guy. Hence my love of the Panerai PAM112. Can't get more simple than that. BTW, the Royal Canadian Air Force aerobatic team, The Snowbirds, all have custom made Navitimers with their team logo on it. Breitling does this for a number of Air Force aerobatic teams. Now one of THOSE, I'd want. Imagine a collection of one from each team? WOW! That big whitey above is impressive and I've even had one on my wrist. But I'd never buy one.

It just give you a little better excuse to stare at/admire your watch for a little while longer! You don't have that with your Rolex or SMP. You need a little challenge on your wrist.

Oh, who am I kidding, it will never end.

Nope, it never will. I have been tempted to pick up a vintage 1950s Navitimer, however. Not quite so busy and with some history (and a better price).
