Rolex isn't real by people who know you or you meet? I run into this alot because alot of people have the perception that only millionares own these! Only on a few rare occassions has someone I don't know even mentioned my watch...any watch I was wearing. My friends know about my watch collecting and the work I do to afford my "habbit" so none of them think anything about it. I'm sure some people see my watches and wonder if they're real....doesn't matter much to me. I buy my watches for me. John

I've only been asked once by an older guy on my ex-commuter train. He figured a 'gov't hack' isn't paid enough to buy one so he assumed it was fake. It blew him away when I told him it's very real and told him the diff between real and fake.
Fake rolex are next to impossible to find in Toronto (or most of Canada for that matter, unless u buy online or out of country).
Because fakes are more prevalent in the US, my guess is most people assume most wear fakes.

I've only had my Sea-dweller a short time and no-one has even noticed it. People who are not into watches don't notice the the way we do. My family know and they think I'm mad. I bought it for me, everyone else can go..........................themself. ;D

My experience has been that "watch guys" notice my Rolex, and are either wearing one of their own...or...they own one themselves.............either that , or, on the occcasion that the question "what kind of watch are you wearing?" comes up, and I tell them Rolex, the immediate response is "well, they must be paying you too much money..." or, "is it real?" I gotta tell them that it's a question of priorities....the guys I know that wouldn't spend "that kind of money" on a watch" spend thousands of dollars on golf clubs, country club memberships, and expensive wine....whatever makes you happy, eh?

I have to aggree. It is where your priorities are.People will say your crazy spending that sought of money on a watch but will blow a heap of money on there wife or something else. ;DWhat people should realize is that it is your money and how you choose to spend it is your right. As for people asking me about my watch being real or not,I dont have the problem.I dont have one
I feel a head ache coming on. ;D

and that was what led me to purchase a Daytona. I didn't want to own a watch that it seemed like everyone else owned. It seems in South Florida a lot of guys own the Sub. I got sick of seeing them everywhere and then traded it in for a Daytona.
I have not looked back and noone asks if it is fake. Nobody notices it either or isn't saying anything but I like it for me and not for others to notice anyway.

I purchased my sub while I was still in the Army and that sent up red flags! How can an E6 afford such a watch?(has to be fake) I told them; when you have over 10 years in and no bills, you can pretty much afford what you want. The reply was, yeah right! But now that I am a civilian I don't get asked anymore. And like many members have stated, people who don't collect watches don't really notice and those that due collect watches know the difference. Regards, JD
