watches? I have seen watches with extreme depth ratings. Just wondering if the sea-dweller is sufficient enough when it comes to depth ratings? I am not a diver so I don't know how deep a person can actually dive. Does anyone think Rolex will ever increase the depth rating on this model?

I am not a diver so I don't know how deep a person can actually dive. Does anyone think Rolex will ever increase the depth rating on this model? If you take a look at the history of of the Sea-Dweller, it started out as a Submariner variant designed by Rolex in cooperation with the dive organization COMEX. Before dive computers, it's my understanding that watches like the Sea-Dweller and DOXA dive models were the watch of choice for deep divers. From what I understand (being a non-diver) depth rating doesn't tell the whole story when examining the divers tools of choice. Most divers use digital diver computers now, and might use an actual dive watch as a back up instrument. I can only think of a couple of other watches that can go deepr than a Sea-Dweller - the Breitling Super Ocean Pro comes to mind (I think it can go 6000 ft.). However, I've never heard the watch talked about as a serious divers tool. Of course, I don't hang out much in Breitling forums much either. John
