I am looking at a double winder for two Rolex watches. I read somewhere that they need 650 RPD, I have yet to find specs equal that.
The winders are the Rapport Mahogany with Burgundy Interior $379 or the Everwell black leather for about $350. I am leaning towards the Rapport because of the soft felt watch holders vs the plastic holder on the Everwell. The wood finish looks nice also but you get no glass top with the Rapport.
Any experience with these?

I second John's reccomendation of Everwell winders, and John Rigano. Superb quality winders at a great price, and John is an outstanding guy. I actually have to buy two triple head winders from him in the next month or so.... oh Johhhhhhn!

Looks like the Everwell wins. Do these winders have felt pads on the bottom for placing on a hard surface? I can't tell from the photos.

about the possibility of damaging a watch if one does not understand the winder and the watch!
This is a great topic for discussion!

about the possibility of damaging a watch if one does not understand the winder and the watch! This is a great topic for discussion! Mike, As you come to understand more about watches, I think you'll see that a winder can't damage a watch any more than actively wearing the same watch every day would. In the end, there isn't a significant benefit or detriment to the longevity of a watch movement by using a winder. It's more about the conviencence they bring to people who have mulitple watches with automatic movements in their collections. John

I just got the double Everwell wood winder from John R., thanks John!! I only plan to use it on the days my wife and I are wearing non-auto watches, usually on the weekends. I don't like the idea of constant winding movement of the crown every Monday morning, more chances for something to happen? Sometimes I even wear some of the non-autos for a day or two. The winder is needed.
