If you're like me you plan in advance for at least 80% of your purchases. Sadly I am fickle and change my mind often and usually end up with quite a few I wasn't expecting (like my AT). What's on your list for the remainder of '04, and what's on your list for '05? Remainder of 2004:Omega Seamaster GMT white dial Invicta Transatlantic (black case) Invicta Times Square Auto (ETA 2824-2) 2005:Panerai Power Reserve Rolex Sea Dweller Omega Speedmaster Broad Arrow OR Legend (undecided on which) And last but not least... the Invicta COSC Speedway (no image available yet) Toss in a "fun purchase" from time to time (like the new redesigned COSC Lupah Dragon, etc) and that should be it for the next year... but ya never know do you?

That's funny...I just had lunch today with John Rigano and he's close to buying an Olympus himself...white or black dial. If he was less lazy, and posted here, he'd chime in.... ;D ;D ;D John

Great thread by the way Oompa! I can't help but notice how similar our tastes run....almost every watch on your buy list is a watch I've owned, own, or want. I have to first say that right now, I couldn't be happier with my collection. I have six main watches that I rotate in wearing throughout the week - 4 Rolex and 2 Omega (I have a few others that I keep for sentimental reasons but don't wear). It's taken me SEVERAL years of trial and error to arrive at these watches. Now I'm hoping to buy no more than one...maybe two watches a year. I don't think I'll ever have more than 10 in my main collection. That said, here's a few thoughts on my buy list. I'm somewhat regretting the sale of my white dial Omega GMT. As much as it is silly to own both the Explorer II and the Omega GMT, the Omega is such a great, great watch.... One of these days/years, I'd like to get a nice high end auto with a power reserve dress piece - like a JLC or Zenith. There's one...maybe two other Rolex watches that I think will make their way into my collection. I'm on a couple of waiting lists for a Daytona (magic 8 ball says "not bloody likely" at the prospects of my number coming up to receive a call for a Daytona in '05). I also wouldn't mind getting a vintage sub of some flavor...maybe. If I could pick one up used or on close out, I think I wouldn't mind getting the Broad Arrow in (gulp) gold...maybe not on the bracelet....but I've seen it on a strap....very nice. If they'll come out with a BA variant with a display back and a more exciting color scheme, I'd be up for that too. I'll probably jump on the first Co-Axial Seamaster Pro that comes out (I don't care for the pics I've seen of the Bond GMT one...). I'm really, really hoping Invicta can deliver an attractive Speedway with a COSC cert., display back and under $1000.00 street price. If so, I'm in. That's about all I can think of..... John

You still had the Omega GMT. I'm frankly surprised that you let it go - in fact, that you let both of them go (the black, too). I remember you saying that the white dial was one of your favorites.
I'm sort of in the same place you are with watches. I've got a regular rotation, and any more would just sit in the box or on the winder.
I do, however, plan to add that white dialed Omega GMT next year. Probably will be my only wristhwatch purchase. I'm not even all that excited about the upcoming Speedway.

Yea well....I've re-bought watches I've sold before....it could happen again. ;D So far, I'm not at all displeased with my Explorer II, and I just don't see owning 2 white dial GMTs....I'm not saying it won't happen....but gosh that would be silly... As far as the Speedway goes, let's say I'm excited about the prospect that Invicta as the opportunity to do something great again (something we haven't seen, IMHO, since the release of the original 9937) with the auto Speedway. Whether they deliver or not remains to be seen....with so little information available, it's hard to get too excited. John

Number 1 on my list is the Bond full size SMP. Second is the Hammy Aviation Chrono with 7753 mvmt. Last, I may throw Invicta a bone and pick up one of those Times Square AutosThis site is cool but I am confused...still can't figure out how to post pics. Is there a help section for the Add Tags?

Unlike Oompa I usually plan ahead only one watch at a time in addition to which watch I will give up in order to get it. I've limited myself to a maximum of 12 watches (in a 12 watch box) so, when a new one comes, one has to go. Here is my latest desire. It's the Japan LE of the Speedmaster Professional. Only 2004 made. I've got an American GI stationed over there looking for me. I lust after this one:
