I'm thinking of buying a camera so I can take pics of my Seamaster and post them. I'm looking at the Canon S500 or the A95. Any comments on these two? Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Hi Bob,
The Cannon A95 appears to be a very good alround general purpose camera.I only just bought a camera yesterday and went with the Nikon Coolpix 4100. The two cameras mentioned above are very similar in features and quality and it came down to that I had been using a Nikon Coolpix 2100 for a little while and only being a 2.1mp impressed me.I think if you kept with the above cameras you will get very good service.
Cheers Aaron

Hi Bob The Canon is a great little camera. I take it though that you are referring to the Powershot S500 which is called Digital Ixus 500 here in Europe. You may also wish to have a look at the Panasonic Lumix DMC FX7B. Panasonic digital cameras use Leica lenses. Both the above are 5Megapixel units, more than adequate for most needs. The Canon has very pocketable dimensions whilst the Panasonic though slimmer is about an inch longer. There is a product review site you may wish to look up:- www.cnet.com/and follow the link to digital cameras. Happy hunting Weenson

The Canon A80 is an excellent buy at around $300...4 megapixels, good macro for the closeups, and a great reputation in photographic circles!
