I have heard somewhere the 33xx movements in the Seamaster Chrongraphs are soughted now.Is this correct and how do you know if your are buying the [glow=red,2,300]NEW IMPROVED[/glow] or an old stocker with the same problems. When I do buy one it will be new and from an authorized dealer so warranty wont be a problem. It is more the inconvenience . Cheers Aaron

Here is an Email I received from Omega, regarding the 3301 movement:
Dear Mr. Carvalho,
We thank you for your e-mail and appreciate your interest in Omega.
Taking note of your concerns regarding the family of OMEGA 33XX movements, we would like to give you the following information:
After the initial introduction of the OMEGA 33XX movements, we did experience some teething problems with the chronograph function. Since then these problems have been identified and corrected as part of our continuous quality improvements. Following this, new improved versions of the calibres 33XX have been introduced.
Any watches with problems have been – and will continue to be – corrected under warranty on an individual basis by our Customer Services Centres. Due to the limited number of repairs within our Customer Service Organization as well as the continuous improvements no recall has been necessary.
As with all OMEGA products, the calibres 33XX are the object of continuous evolution to meet the highest possible quality standards.
We sincerely hope that this information will encourage you to continue to enjoy OMEGA’s fine timepieces.
Yours sincerely,
Özlem Kuleli
OMEGA Ltd.

There's no easy way to know unless you can ask your dealer exactly how long they've had their 33xx movement in stock. You might want to pick up (if you can get it) the October issue of IW Magazine - I do a review of the Broad Arrow in the issue. I spoke directly to Omega reps. about the problems, and have no question that they've corrected the issue. However there are a few uncorrected examples still in the market place. John

Thanks guys for the info.I am probably jumping the gun but who knows.Nine weeks ago who would know that I would buy the Ltd edition Ian Thorpe and trade in within 2 weeks trade it for the black SMP. The Ian Thorpe(I wish I kept a photo of the unique back engraved with the image of Ian Thorpe and numbered 75/100.

It was actually cheaper than my Black SMP.I bought it from a reputable watch mob here in Aussie. It was new old stock(3 years old). The big thing was I didnt like it that much. The lume in the markers is so good on these it actually looked green/yellow on the blue dial. I also found the blue was a bit bright for me having grown up on black dials. What it all boils down to is I am so happy with the Black SMP it was all worth it.

G'day Aaron
We did the opposite of each other. You swapped your Electric Blue for a Black and I did the reverse. I wouldn't give up the Electric Blue just as you are equally attached to your black.
Mind you whilst I wear the EB most of the time I think I might look around for a pre-owned Bond to use as an everyday number.
Glad to know you're enjoying yours.
Best
Weenson
