John, I'm mightily impressed! The top shot is just perfect and outstanding. I'm not big on the photoshopped one below it, but you know your way around the camera and the software. Well done. BTW, I used to be a news photographer and I don't give out photographic praise often.

It was a lifetime ago....
"knew what I was doing?" nah. I just got paid to put myself in dangerous situations with a camera in my hand, lol.
But I have photographed things ranging from a firey and very grim plane crash (victims still on board when I was shooting) to following Princess Diana around Toronto for five days. Interesting stuff.
I know my way around a 35mm when shooting with available light, shooting sports and news as it happens. I've done some studio shooting with 35mm but I'm at a loss with digital photography. Just picking it up when I'm not doting on my 1 year old daughter.
It's been literally 10 years since I've shot film with any degree of seriousness. Hell, I still can't figure out how to post pix here. LOL

I'm pretty much self taught, and I often have thought starting out with 35mm would have been helpful. What's giving you trouble in posting pictures? E-Mail me and I'll help any way I can! John

John, excellent pics and composition as usual. However, if I may offer a bit of constructive critisism, the pics look just a wee bit washed out. Kind of low on contrast. Was that the look you were striving for? Not, that I could do better but my minds eye just wants the blue to be a little deeper. As I said, the composition and detail is superb.
