Is there any sought of a time period a watch stays in production?I have read that the Rolex Subs have been around for quite a time(with minor updates).I know the Seamaster name has been around a long time but when did the Bond style hit the markets and will it stay for a while? What would dictate its demise? Bond movies using a different brand or just when sales drop off to a level of unproffitabilty. Cheers Aaron

In the case of the Bond Seamaster, I can tell you that it was introduced in 1996, currently there is a world wide shortage. I tried last month to get one, and couldn't. I finally located a new one, and got the last one that particular dealer had - he said he has six more coming next month. I've sort of wondered how Omega/the Seamaster will be impacted by Pierce Brosnan stepping down as James Bond. Will there be a new Bond Seamaster? Will the studios select a different brand altogether for James Bond? To answer your question though, aside of limited edition/limited run models, most watches stay in production until people stop buying them. John
