The mailman just delivered my certified package from Bienne and my AT is back home! I've already synched up to time.gov, and I'm anxious to see how she's running. I'm planning on writting an article (sheesh...I have like 10 articles in various stages of development right now....) detailing the entire service experience from Omega, but I can tell you they went WAAAY above and beyond. I really only sent it in to see if they could regulate it a bit more tightly, and they ended up replacing several components and polishing the watch nicely...they even replaced the spring bars on the bracelet (Omega sends you all the old parts back on anything they replace). For now, I'm just one heckuva happy camper! John

and would you like to borrow my Elvis mask? ;D
John, I wonder if I may seek your advice.
I walked into a low wall ( ouch ) a few weeks ago and scratched the bezel ( a very thin line between 12 and 1 o'clock ) of my AT. Believe me, it hurt me more than the AT. My local Omega dealer will send it off to Swatch UK for the princely sum of £45. If they are unable to polish the scratch out, they reckon a new bezel will be required. Question is, do I send it to Bienne or Swatch/ Omega UK? What do you think?
Many thanks
My best wishes
Weenson

Not that I've heard anyone one way or the other about Swatch UK...I'm just absolutely sold on the Bienne Service Center. 46 pounds sounds steep too...I know that probably around 60-70.00 US. I sent my AT for $20.00 US doing it myself. John

Did they (Omega) tell you why they had to change the escapement gears on your AT? Since this particular watch IS on my short list i was wondering if there was an unusual problem. Just saw your answer on the subject on Zowie's. I find it amusing that they explain in details what is wrong with the case and bracelet but tell you nothing about the movement.

I'm thinking that the average Joe Omega customer probobly wouldn't understand even if they tried to explain about the movement issues....so why bother? Heck I probobly wouldn't get it either.... ;D ;D John
