I just read something that appears to be yet another rumor...but the rumor seems to be gaining ground.... Apparently, Rolex upgrading both the Jubilee and Oyster bracelets in some way (coming in Nov. so the story goes)...and will be adding considerably to the price tags of Rolex watches....the same rumor says the next price increase is due in Feb., which contradicts everythig I've heard on the topic. I normally wouldn't pay attention to such unlikely stories, but one guys said that he's seen pictures...if such pictures existed, I'd think they'd be all over the net. Rumor or truth? John

I'm going to be [glow=red,2,300]SLIGHTLY[/glow] ticked off, having bought 4 brand new Rolex earlier thi year! Of course if the price is jacked up because of the new bracelets, then I might be counting my blessings... John

I heard about the braclet upgrade from my local authorized dealer. They saw some samples last month. Appareantly, the Jubilee bracelet is getting solid center links in place of the folded links, and the closure for the bracelet will be concealed similar to the President bracelet. My dealer said that they are very cool and quite heavy. There is some confusion however regarding whether the new bracelets will be available in stainless as well as gold and two tone. That's all I know about it, and its only as good as my source so don't hold me to it. ;D

They did not say anything about the Oyster. I am guessing that the center links on the stainless and 18 K bracelet may be solid in the future. That would certainly explain a significant price increase. Also, it would make the watch weigh like a President. I tried on the stainless and 18K sub like yours and I was surprised that it was lighter than my stainless sub. (But what a beauty! ) They did show me the new pricelist. Just about everything is going up in February, and the new items coming in November are already at the higher prices. Luke

Luke Interesting observation...I think my TT Sub is at least as heavy as my Dweller...if not more so (I'm holding both right now to check). Who knows? I was thinking Rolex would do a price increase before the end of the year...certainly before Christmas....Feb. seems an odd time to do it....then again, I think the price increase this year was in Feb..... It will be interesting to see what sort of effect adding a solid center link will have to watches on the secondary market. My general feeling from watching the sales corners is that you see a divide in price and desirability between all Rolex modesl based on the presence of solid end links. People seem to want them, and will pay a bt more for a Rolex that has them. Will the same be said of the solid gold center link models? If the difference in retail price is 1000.00 or more, then I'm guessng "no." It might even make the generations of current TT models more desirabe because of the lower price. John

John Hmmm.. that's a thinker. The secondary market appears to so vibrant for Rolex watches in particular. Its one of few watch brands that have such stable value. For example, my father in law had an 18K President that he really did not like, so he traded it for a new car, and got back change. Now I like Invictas, but no number of 8926's will buy you a car, let alone get change. All in all, the market will do what the market will do. I think that the new prices won't slow down sales of new wayches at all and will probably make the prices for pre-owned Rolex increase as well. We'll see. I just hope to be able to acquire a few more before the prices reach an unattainable level, which at the rate they are going, won't be long BTW - maybe I was just expecting the stainless adn 18K sub to be heavier.. sometimes the mind plays tricks.. lol Luke Mayes
