Don't let this influence your thoughts on the subject, but I think the white dial looks better then then black dial. The reason is because the white and grey contrast horribly with the black dial.

I agree the white looks better, and if I was picking one it would be the white faced.
Aklso, while not a major deciding factor, the white one is more desirable, and should you ever sell it probably fetch a better resale.

White = better legibility Black = better cosmetically I have had both, and that was my findings I had both, and agree about the legibility...I think the cosmetic assessment is more opinion based. I was talking with idriveanm5 earlier this week on this very topic...one of the swaying factors for me is that Rolex already makes so many great black dial watches...why not get the Daytona in white?

I own a black one, which I love and as Wesley Snipes said always bet on black. I also plan on one day owning a white one as well so then you would have the best of both worlds.
Also, if there is more white one's, I like having one that even fewer people have.
Either way you can't lose. Enjoy owning one!!

It's driving me nuts that I can not remember. And even @ the two movies I posted, I am guessing.....

I was just thinking about this same conversation! For me, I have 4 black dial watches right now, and I don't need another one. Thus, if the opportunity to own a SS Daytona came up, it would certainly have to be equipped with a white dial for me to buy. I want to add a light colored dial to my collection, and I see the white dial SS Daytona as the perfect means to do just that.

Great pic ohlins, Whilst white would be my second choice dial, given thet the Daytona waiting list here in England is 5 years (i'm not joking!) i'd kill (not literally) for the one in your pic! :-)
