Hello Everyone! ;D I've had the yachtmaster for a while now and it couldnt be any better having great advice from evryone here especially DIVER88, JBHII and TOM for helping me out with my past problems with scratches to the bracelet. However I have come across another prblem and I hope you guys dont mind me asking for yet another advice. I was wondering if there is any way i can work on the scratches i have on the bezel particularly the brushed polish part in between the numbers? its been buggin me for a while now especially now that i can get to any part of the watch (with the brush pen and cape cod cloth) except this area Im just hesitant to use the brush polisher pen on the bezel as it might give a different finish...any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks guys! take care! BTW, Congratulations to the Photo Competion winners! Photos are amazing...

Hey Japes, Wow, that's a hard area to get to.. Well, I think that's a beaded finish, not brushed. I'm pretty sure a cape cod or fiberglass brush would give a different finish to it.... I'm sitting here looking at mine, scratching my head wondering how you'd go about doing that & can't come up with anything.. Have you checked with a watchmaker to see how they'd do it? I'm wondering if there's even a way.... Good luck!

Why is Platinum tricky to work with? I would have thought gold due to its softness.

Typically the metal on rolex watches are either brushed or polished. For brushed finishes, one can use a scuff pad or a brush pen to fix scratches. On polished surfaces, you can use a cape cod cloth. However, the yachtmaster bezels looks like they were sand blasted which give them a frosted or hazed look. I have a ss/plat yachtmaster and have a scratch on the bezel. I didn't do anything about it yet...don't want to screw it up more. I'm just going to wait until I pick up a few more blemishes before I send it in to Rolex. Tom

Hey TF, Additionally, the issue with the bezel is the small size & area compared to something like a link. Even if the bezel was brushed or polished (it's not, but lets say it is) as it's 3 dimentional & not very wide, it's difficult to get a uniform look trying to refinish in it. You not only have to worry about the sides, but the raised markers & numbers on the insert. On a bracelet link, it's only 2 dimentional. You really only have to worry about the links on the side with refinishing a bracelet. Yea, personally I wouldn't mess with mine either... Hey Mike, Just do a search on that auction site. You'll find dozens. Personally, I like the Bergeon, but there is a bunch.
