I wanted to ask you guys if you could check with your AD's on how exclusive the Migauss 116400 GV model is going to be. I am hearing from my AD's that it will be like the LV was and almost like the SS Daytona. Can you please confirm. Please note there are 3 models and I am only curious on the model mentioned above with the green sapphire crystal. Thanks!

I've asked my AD's in passing over the past few weeks, and they don't even expect to get them until maybe Christmas. So unfortunately they really don't know how "hot" it'll be until they get them. But none of them are getting requests for calls when the first one hits the stores, so IMO it won't be as hard to get as the LV was nor the SS White Daytona. But, once they're in the stores that could change...

I tend to agree with ScottD. In my opinion, the MG appeals to a very specific Rolex buyer, and chances are, Rolex AD's may end up with them in inventory for a bit. But, it's like selling a yellow car, it only takes one buyer.......

I'm hearing from my AD here in England that they expect the Milgauss GV to be quite readily available, much like the new GMT II which we are tripping over here in both SS and TT. I quite like the GV but polished centre links are not my favourite, and i'm not sure how a 40mm watch without a bezel would look on me. My AD expects to have one in December so i will definitely slip it on the wrist and see what happens! I agree with m5 about the specific Milgauss buyer, but i reckon 99.9% of Sub and SD owners (like myself) never take them anywhere near salt water, so i don't foresee every scientist and MRI technician suddenly hot-footing it to the nearest AD! My unqualified opinion, gut instinct if you will is that they will not be that hard to find, but you will probably never see one on somebody's wrist. :-)

If it is like the LV, I would not worry. When it first came out, it was hard to get; but, it seems now that the LV is not that hard to obtain. Patience! ;D

Yeah TF, easy to say. But, you know this lot - though we have such an interest in time, we have precious little patience when it comes to this hobby!

I suspect it will be similar to the new GMT-II. There is pent up demand and not just from MRI technicians and scientists. This is a model that was made for the collectors, but will appeal to new market segments. It is so different from the rest of the lineup .... the green crystal and the lightening bolt second hand will attract new buyers to Rolex. I wouldn't be surprised if these take hold with young professionals and the creative crowd (I'm thinking the typical Apple Mac consumer).
If I had to bet, I'd say that getting one for xmas will be challenging, but they will certainly be generally available by late Q1 or Q2 of '08. Don't believe the AD hype, they will tell you EVERY new model is limited/scarce/allocated to prod you into paying a deposit or advanced purchase.
