Anyone on the forum know much about antique Ball pocket watches? I have been admiring many on the internet, and I am struck by the price differences-- some go for under $200 while others are over $1,000. I imagine that some are far more desirable than others, however I cannot figure out which ones an why. Any insight?

Jacques: I am not familiar with the Ball pocket watch history, so sorry I could not be more helpful. Jeremy, from Ball, is around here, and he may be able to assist. Also, you may want to post in the General Forum, as I know some people there know more about pocket watches, and may be able to assist.

I own several, acquired over the years, and there is a great deal of difference both in the movements used, and materials in the cases. Then of course there is condition to be taken into account. There used to be several good books on American made pocket watches available.
