In a warm welcome to her website, Cindy Crawford penned these words –
Welcome to Cindy.com. We've spent a great deal of time updating and recreating the look and feel of this site. That time allowed me to take a moment and reflect on how fortunate I've been. I've had an amazing run and am blessed with a wonderful, healthy family. I love what I do, but it's not who I am. This website is to share some other aspects of me with you.
Here's what you don't see in the pictures:
I always knew I wanted a family. I love being a mom even more than I thought I would.
I'm not a party girl.
I wake up early.
I go to "Mommy and Me," and the supermarket and the playground.
I love to read - mostly fiction.
I hardly ever look at fashion magazines.
I'm not bad at bowling - I actually had it in high school gym class.
My husband thinks I'm a good cook.
My favorite vacations combine beach and family.
Christmas is my favorite holiday. I know how lucky I've been.
Thanks Cindy, like OMEGA, we know how lucky we are.
In February 2006, OMEGA announced that young golf superstar Michelle Wie would joined Ernie Els and Sergio Garcia in the luxury brand’s family of international golfing ambassadors. Being a sport of character, golf is a perfect complement to a watch manufacturer like Omega. The prestige Swiss brand is one of the few watchmakers in the world to boast a history and tradition that can compete with that of the noble sport of golf.

Michelle Wie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on 11 October 1989. She was four when she first began playing golf. Her coach was her father, B.J. Wie. At the age of ten, Michelle became the youngest player ever to qualify for a USGA amateur championship, the USGA Women's Amateur Public Links Championship. By eleven, Michelle had won nearly all the junior events she had entered. In 2002, she was the youngest semi-finalist ever in a USGA amateur championship. Ever since the beginning, Michelle Wie has proved herself one of the longest hitters ever, routinely knocking her drives over a distance of 300 yards. The following year, Michelle became the youngest ever to win the US Women’s Amateur Public Links. As the youngest person, she is just the fourth female ever to play in a PGA tour event, when on January 15, 2004 she teed off at the Sony Open.
Michelle turned professional on October 5 2005, just a week before celebrating her 16th birthday. At the same time, she pledged $500,000 towards the relief fund set up to assist victims of Hurricane Katrina. On February 22, 2006, Michelle was ranked 3rd in the women’s world golf rankings. In addition to all the golf tournaments she plays, Michelle Wie attends Stanford University with 2007 being her “freshman” year.
Michelle’s first tournament in her new partnership with OMEGA was at the Fields Open, organised in Kapolei, Hawaii, from 23 to 25 February 2006. She marked the event by wearing the pink Omega Ladies Speedmaster Automatic ( please refer Ladies Watch of The Day October 8 2007 ).
OMEGA's international ambassadors add a special touch to events and reinforce OMEGA's association with competitive professional sports. As a manufacturer of prestige timepieces for more than 150 years, the company attaches great importance to long-term relationships with prominent spokespersons for the brand. Well-known international celebrities such as Cindy Crawford, Nicole Kidman and Michael Schumacher are all partners of OMEGA and are quite naturally regarded as part of a family. Of Michelle, Stephen Urquhart, President of Omega had this to say -
“Omega is proud to welcome Michelle Wie to the Ambassadors’ Family. With her talent and dedication to performance, Michelle has a promising future ahead of her. She sets an example for the new generation of golfers by combining feminine grace with power and technique.”
For her part, Michelle Wie explained her reasons for accepting OMEGA’s invitation to be an international spokesperson for the brand –
"OMEGA’s golfing family includes some of the world's best players. I am very happy to be associated with the brand and to join one of my golfing idols, Ernie Els, on the Omega team. Omega watches have a great reputation for performing best under pressure, so I am going to wear an Omega watch in every golf tournament that I play as I share that objective. I am honoured to be a partner with the prestigious OMEGA company and its quality products. I am confident this will be a fantastic partnership”.
