Hi I never really liked dive watches i think because watch companies started putting numbered bezels on every watch they could . So i would just pass them up and look at regular bezeled watches but now i am starting to appreciate the dive watches. i seem to like them with out the black bezel just plain steel or a color but not black so i am thinking this Seiko in orange with the rubber strap SKX781K3 Rubber it has the Caliber: 7S26 is that a good movement? also any suggestions in divers i like citizen also i want one with either yellow or orange dial bright green would be nice too anything but black or dark blue and i don't think i would want an invicta that looks like a rolex

The 7s26 is a workhorse movement that's been around for donkey's years (how's that for a mixed metaphor). It's very reliable, but I don't think it hacks. KW or Tigger could tell you better. I have two Seikos - a 6R15 diver and a Kinetic Coutura. I like both. I have a famous or infamous Orange Monster diver, which left me a bit cold. Too Astroboy in styling. Some of the new Orient diver's are really great looking. My good pal - and former Asia Forum Admin = Mtech the Wise preferred Orient's over Seiko. I have owned one Orient. Great case work!

i've got 3 with the 7s26 movement. after 10 years one had a problem and had to be repaired, after hard use (diving and beater duty). back to 100% now -1 second a day accuracy. then i recently got these two, diver88

The 7s26 movement is a great movement. It might not be the most refined nor accurate. But it will always work and it can be adjusted, although it is not easy to do. It doesn't hack but I don't think that is a big issue at this price. It doesn't hand wind, but it builds its power very quickly so not an issue either... You find it in numerous Seiko models, so shouldn't be to hard to find one that suits your taste... Good luck Right you are Bart! Do you really want to know more about the 7S26 movement? ;D There is an article in our J & A Reference sub-forum that can tell you more than you probably want to know! jholbrook.proboards33.com/index.cgi?board=jalinks&action=display&thread=1170026671&page=1#1170026671

chaibill, you might also like this one. It has the 7s35. It is based on the proven 7s26. It is also available with a silver bezel with black and orange numbering. I think that you can't go wrong with any Seiko. let us know about your decision and show us pictures. ;D

Hey Chaibill, the compass rotates with the crown at 4 o'clock. Pretty simple to use by pointing the hour hand in sun's direction. I think there is some instructions on Seiko's website. They come with the watch anyway.
Of course, it's not design for precise mesurements, but it's nice for general direction if you are kayaking or canoeing.
Have a nice w-end

I have that watch with the black face and rubber band, AKA, “The Black Monster”. All I can say about it is that I stare at it all the time, even when I’m not looking to see what time it is! I’m a diver and I think it is the perfect watch. Good choice.
