Decky Both are very good watches, but pretty different from one another. 1. Movement. Both available in quartz or COSC certified automatic movements. The Omega has the upper hand here, since the ETA movement used in the SMP is newer and of a higher pedigree, and a bit better. Accuracy should be about the same. 2. Case The Omega will be more elegant, slightly larger dial but a thinner case due to the thinner movement. The Colt will be heavier, thicker and with a busier face and dial. More of a casual watch, while the Omega can do dress and jeans a bit better. 3. Bracelet Between the Colt and the Seamaster, I think I would give the nod to the Omega. The SMP bracelet is simply one of the best bracelets I have ever seen. They are both very very comfortable. 4. Water resistance. The Colt's greater WR translates into thicker everything. Thicker case, crystal, etc. Basically a heavier watch. As far as real life goes... Will you really dive at a depth above 300m? To sum it up, even though we are on the Breitling forum, between the Colt and the SMP I will have to go with the Seamaster. It has a better pedigree, better history, better movement, and it's pretty much an icon in the watch world. The Colt is an entry level model and less sought after on the collector's market. Truth be told, when it comes to comparing Breitling to Omega, it all comes down to which one talks to you. They are both outsanding watches that will serve you a lifetime and will take anything you throw at them. Go to an AD and put both on your wrist. The one that makes you do this ;D is the one you should buy. OR... you can always get both!

Decky,
I'm no expert, but I agree with Chip's assesment of the Colt vs the Seamaster.
Have you looked at the Superocean or Steelfish? I tend to think these are a step up from the Colt and certainly seem to me to be more impressive. I also think the Superocean/Steelfish would be a better watch to compare against the Seamaster and can be purchased at a similar price point (maybe a few hundred more than the Omega).

I agree. The SuperOcean or the SteelFish would be more appropriate for a duel with the Seamaster. The Omega still has the better movement and it is more elegant, but from the "I look tough cause I am tough" point of view, very few can match Breitling! I own the steelfish x-plus and the seamaster, here is a pic side by side.
