I'm looking for any pictures which show the old and new Steelfish side by side. I really can't see the difference but want to see the pictures before I decide that the X model is worth the extra $$$$.

welcome to the forum.
The only way you can tell them apart is by the thickness of the bezel around the dial. the x-plus has a higher water resistance rating, so it has a 44mm diameter as opposed to the 1500m steelfish which is 42.5 or something.
I had them both in my hand and the x-plus looked a bit better. It looks a lot stronger and tougher, due to the extra thickness of the bezel and the thickness of the watch.

Thanks Chip! Can you tell me if the dial is the same size (and then the bezel would be wider as you describe)?
Let me elaborate a bit more..... I have an Oris TT1 diver in blue, an Oris TT1 diver regulator, a Tissot Seastar, and I just sold my SMP "electric blue" to buy a new watch. So now you understand my reference point.
I want the X series due to larger size and increased water resistance, but since I buy most of my watches pre owned, there are very few out there and certainly not for low prices. So I am trying to figure out if I the old model will satisfy, or if I should just hold out for the X (I have never tried either on).
For reference, the SMP on bracelet is as small as I would ever go, and my Oris TT1 Diver (44mm, but feels smaller) is absolutely perfect.

Hey Pnut! Welcome to WTF! Not trying to hijack the thread here, but how do you like your TT1 Regulator? I've got the same 44mm blue TT1 you have, but am also drawn to the regulator for it's uniqueness.

I LOVE the TT1 regulator. I don't use the strap because when I put the strap on my TT1 Blue dial, it was unbalanced (I really only like bracelets).
I have bought and sold about 6 watches in the last year. The Blue dialed Oris diver (Not like yours, but the older model with stainless bezel and electric blue dial) and this regulator are the only ones to survive all the cutting. The blue dial TT1 diver was my first mechanical watch, and to this day still my favorite.
The Regulator is fantastic. I hesitated for about a year due to the Titanium because it felt too plasticky to me. But after trying it on in person, the weight of the movement and the thick crystal give it close to the same weight as the TT1 Diver. It is by far the best value on the market. IMHO. No to detract from it's quality on it's own however as it is not only significant Horologically (regulator movement, in a sports watch no less), but the quality is excellent. Example: There is a small "cap" covering the hand mounting sleeves. This is so you see only a small chrome cover at the hand mounting point, where as on most watches you see the ends of the mounts.
In any case, this one I do not plan to sell ANYTIME soon. I bought mine used for $890 including shipping from a guy in the Netherlands. A real good deal. I also have brushed the center liknks with a (used, then cleaned) fine grit sanding sponge (hardware store). The Titanium was too hard to keep polished and did not look right to me. Now a perfect match.
