Hello! I have bought a very similar Breitling watch to this one (I have no digital camera so I found that picture on Internet). The problem is that I have no idea what the the scale on the rotating bezel indicates(it is very strange it goes up to 95 and then follows 10, I find also very strange the fact that the numbers are not placed equally from each others). I also don't know the functions of the lower button. Please give me some clue because I have bought my watch without any instruction.

Hi and welcome to the forum. The scale on your watch is a logrithmic circular slide rule. Don't feel alone if it intimidates you! I've never gotten past multiplication on the one I had.
Multiplying two numbers: To multiply 7 by 12, the figure 12 on the outer scale is placed opposite the "10" mark on the inner scale. The result is displayed opposite the figure 7 on the inner scale, namely 84.
Dividing two numbers: To divide 120 by 4, one need only place the figure 12 (=120) on the outer scale opposite the figure 40 (=4) on the inner scale. The result can be read off opposite the "10" mark on the inner scale, namely 30.
The pushers on the side operate the chronograph. The top one starts and stops the chrono. The bottom one resets it.
Hope that helps!

Thanks a lot BruceS, I would never figure out that without your help! But maybe my watch is broken, because the bottom button does not reset my chrono.

Yeah it resets the chrono! I just did not press it harder enough!

Don't mean to ask a dumb question, but you are stopping it first, right?
Since you seem to be new to this stuff, let me run through it with you again. Start the chrono by pushing the top button. Stop it by pushing the top button. Then and only then press the bottom button to reset (unless it's a flyback and that one isn't).
You've got to press the buttons with a little force until you hear a positive click. Remember it's mechanical, not digital!
If you are doing all that and it still isn't resetting, you have a problem. Time to find a watchmaker.

Then you're good to go. Now go calculate the fuel required to fly 200 nm at 7500 ft

My chrono is working fine. I was just accustomed with my old digital watch and I was pressing it very gently.

Go to navitimer.net. It's a great website by Jean-Michel of France. There you can learn about the history of the Navitimer, and he even has instructions for using the slide rule bezel.
JM knows as much about the Navitimer as anyone around. He's a really nice guy and a great resource.
