Hi. I'm new here. I just recently purchased a WilliamsF1 Team Chronograph (#2216, steel bracelet). Nice, big (45mm) watch and I'm very happy with it. However, just today I noticed that there's a distinct, even, symmetrical notch on the top of the outer ring where it meets the case. Is this an anomaly or a distinct feature? Maybe someone can enlighten. Thanks. Peace.

Can't wait, so I checked the closeups on the ORIS website. Yup, the notch does exist. Whew!
So what's it for?

This is the watch you bought right? Is the notch the black area you can see in the pic along 105 to 140 on the tachymeter scale? BTW...that's a beauty of a watch!

Watchamacallit Congratulations. Can't help you out with the notch but that is a really good-looking watch. Problem is.....I support the Mclaren Team Seriously though, I wish you well with that watch. Best Weenson

Sam: Yup, the very one. Nope, the notch is not on the face itself but rather on the side of the ring and on top from 65 to "tachy". Check out the closeups of the Ralph Schumacher version on the ORIS website - the sideview showing the etched serial no. Notice the chrome ring has a notch on the left side of the picture? I'd post the pic if I had the time to play around. Sorry.
Cafezinfandel: Waddayaknow, I'm a mclaren fan too! I just like the watch. ;D
