Wasn't sure what to use for props so I grabbed my ukelele and a grass skirt. (I'm in a Hawaiian mood today.) This was shot using a 5 year old (maybe 6?) Kodak DC280. I used natural lighting (opened all the windows) plus I bounced the fill flash off a wall by taping a small square of copy paper over the flash, angled to the side. I'd love tips, but this is my second watch shot ever posted, so please be gentle. -- Carlos

Man, that looks good to me! Love the 2254.50! Tips...I'm often too lazy to do this, but adjusting the hands to 10:10 or 1:50 usually keeps the hands from obstructing the text on the dial. Chronographs are a little trickier, but theres usually some time that doesn't block anything. Keep the pics coming!!!

I thought about doing the 10:10/1:50 thing, but I synced to the atomic clock this morning and didn't want to go through the trouble of resyncing. Just me being lazy, I guess.

I love It! Great props and color not to mention a beautiful watch! Don't let the hands thing bother you, you're not shooting an ad, you're taking pictures for pleasure. You might want to make the effort for a contest shot otherwise don't sweat it. I have a suggestion though about posting pics over 800x600 they don't display well on most browsers, you can't see the whole picture unlesss your browser is set above that. Just a pet peave of mine it's not required here you can actually post any size you like but I am thinking about making it a requirement for contests just so things will be uniform.

I agree....any pic much over 700 pixels wide requires me to scroll. Now if I had a 20" monitor with some insane resolution, it'd be another story. ;D I think the majority of computer users have their screen resolution set to 1024X768. At least that's the resolution I design web pages for. Also, on the hands....I really don't like to mess with it either, but if I happen to get a good shot that might be "contest worthy", I'd hate for the hands to be all jacked up and spoil it.

I've updated the pic to be 1/4 the size of the original. Scrolling on a pic is a pet peeve of mine, too. I posted the high res version just because I wasn't sure if more information (i.e. larger pic) is better or not.

Yeah, see that's better, I can get an appreciation for the overall composition now. When you're scrolling around you miss that. Thanks!

Yeah, that looks good! Someday my Bond and white GMT will hopefully have a 2254.50 brother.
