Tried again this time but with a tripod. Really shows how banged up my SMP is...guess you wear it everyday for 5 years, and it'll happen. I need to work on lighting a WHOLE lot.

OK...I lied ;D. Here's 3 more....camera battery's dead now, and this is it for today. I promise (fingers crossed behind back) ;D ;D ;D Flourescent light seems to do a lot better for me than incandescent. What bulb type do most of you use?

Sam - awesome photos - great use of knives as props. Love that red Gerber!

Sam, those photos are impressive, especially the one of your Bond SMP where the fluoresence of the dial markers really contrasts well with the moodiness of the shot..that is an amazing shot! you should submit that to the photo competition! mamas

Thanks everyone! I know they're not perfect, but they're definitely a lot better than my first try at watch photos. ;D

Good set. Well done! Some excellent composition there.
Can I suggest a bit of post-processing if you want to brighten up your shots? Just play with 'brightness' and 'contrast' edit features present in jsut about any photo editing software
Often it is good to underexpose, as overexposing may 'burn out' the highlights and so lose detail you can never get back, whereas you can usually compensate for underexposure using techiques given above.
Keep up the good work and please keep the pics coming!

I piddled around with John's flashlight trick and "levels" on these 2. Better? Those are outstanding! Like I told John he shouldn't be giving away his trade secrets 'cause we'll be catching up to him. Really nice shots.
