Is there a special way to resize the band on the prowler? doesn't look like the regular pins in a ss watch band.

My special way was $8.00 @ the Jeweler. Sorry, I was not brave enough to size it on my own. Worked though without fuss

The pins are different? Mine has not arrived yet, though today is the day the shopping network predicts it will.
Do the links have the usual inscribed arrow to show you which way to push out the pins?

The Prowlers are a little bit different than other watches. The center "knurled" piece contains a "collar" that the pin fits through. When you push out the pin this collar and the knurled part will also fall out. If you try to just put the pin back in, it will fall through. You have to put the collar in the "knurled" part and then put the knurled part in between the other links and then push the pin through the top link, the knurled part, and the bottom link. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, take it to a jeweler.

I was hoping to be resizing my new Prowler tonight, since today was the day that the shopping network said it should arrive. It shipped on 11/17 by DHL, and the tracking info earlier today said it was "With delivery courrier." Yeah! I'm getting my watch today. But now, it says the package has arrived at the USPS processing center, and the USPS will deliver. When the heck did DHL start shipping packages to the USPS to deliver? It appears that the "free" shipping comes at the cost of anything resembling speed. badgerred, thanks for the tips on the Prowler's links. Maybe by next week at this time, I'll have a watch to resize

I see what your saying about the collar...looked it up on the internet too. Don't want to screw it up so i'll take it to the place in the mall that just sells and deals with watches . The only thing is the jeweler i used to go to of course closed down...now this place has opened up but has nothing but teenage looking kids working their. Oh well.... I'll bring it to them on friday and just hope they know how to do it.

Yeah, it looks like SNBC is shipping with DHL these days and DHL has some kind of agreement with USPS. I received a watch from them several weeks ago and they left the box ON my mailbox even though it would have easily fit IN the mailbox. Must be too many missing packages with the other carriers. I am sorry to hear that the Prowler bracelet pins have collars with which to contend. I hate collars. . . they are a real pain. I re-sized a Zodiac with collars and ended up breaking two sizing tool pins in the process. Since I am also awaiting a Prowler, I shall probably take it to my watch guy and let him wrestle with it. He has all the tools whereas I do not and am not enthusiastic about breaking anymore of my tools.

Well, it arrived! Resizing the bracelet with the collars (I'd call them "sleves") is probably the most difficult thing I've attempted on a watch so far. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone without a pin pusher, pliers, and a lot of patience; it was a pain, but it's all done now. It took me about twice as long as opening up my Aussie's case back and removing the movement to clean the inside of the crystal, which I did last week. Anyway, here's a preliminary picture of my new rosetone and blue Invicta PROWLER!

Yup, been there, done that, Shep. I am re-thinking this purchase today, before mine ships. I may take a pass.
Congrats on yours. . . very nice.

Seiko divers and some Orients have the pin and collar arrangement. It is fussy. But I've found placing the collar in the center link - then inserting the pin works like a charm. If you try to put the collar in the "outside" hole where it belongs, it keeps falling out. But when you put it in the center, the pin will eventually push it where it belongs. Hope this helps. PS: DO NOT LOSE THE COLLARS! AND DO NOT USE YOUR WATCH IF YOU HAVE NOT PUT THE COLLARS ON THE PINS. IT WILL FALL APART!

I did mine yesterday...i paid a guy at the watch place to do it..(by the way he loved the watch...before i could tell him the what i wanted..he had the watch out of the case and on his wrist saying"This is a beautiful watch". But when i got home and put it on...too loose. It fit in the store but it was hot and he put it on the very last hole. So I had to take out another link..it was easy after i saw him do it and how it all went together. Rusty all you need is the tools you would normally use and a pair of pliers..knock the pin .25 to .5 out and pull it out the rest of the way with pliars. Then to put back together put collar in center link and hammer pin back in ...done. So i paid the guy 8 bucks for a little knowledge..well worth it

Well, the so-called "collars" on the Prowler really are sleves for the center part of the links, and only fit through the center link. Reassembly was no problem, but pulling the pin past the middle was a real pain even after pushing the pin partway out with the pin pusher. Now, say that 5 times fast

On the Zodiac bracelet, I had to borrow some of my wife's clear nail polish to temporarily hold the collar in place while I put the pin through. The tough part on that watch was freeing up the pin in the first place. It was really tight.
It hasn't shipped and I'm still thinking about it.

Don't let the collars deter you Rusty or soon you'll never get another watch. I see more and more bracelets employing those collars!! Besides I happen to know it's a great watch!!
