Hey Guys, Does anyone have any feedback on the Invicta Quartz range. The watch I am looking at is the 9307(black dial and bezel divers watch). All of my watches are Automatics and I thought it would be nice to have a quartz for a beater.(leave it in the box for the week and grab and go for the weekend) The only reservation I have is the mineral glass face.I would love to have a saphire crystal simply because of the scratch resistance. When I mean beater I mean it is going to be used around home on the property for serious work. Chainsawing, fencing, changing tractor implements etc etc. Cheers Aaron

However, given the abuse the watch will take, have you considered going the Casio G-shock route? They are reputed to be nearly indestructable... John

While you might not want to wear this as a beater, it does illustrate what Invicta can do with a quartz. Invicta 9956 This has a standard Miyota quartz movement, and keeps excellent time. Laurie wears an Invicta 9748 - quartz Yachtmaster style, and pushes it pretty hard; keeps great time, and looks good, too. Besides, I like the look of the quartz diver dials - especially the black - because of the red-winged logo. Here's the watch you described - for what you indicated you needed, this would be a great choice. Invicta 9307Image by Tom Palmer

Hey guys, Thanks for the help!I' ve actually found someone in Australia that sells Invicta watches.(via the google adds on the top of this forum)This is great as nobody has had much to do with Invicta in Australia. The only problem is that they have such a range and the price is so good(compared to Omega,Tag,Rolex and even Seiko)Its like being a kid in a candy shop. ;D Some of the watches are classy looking pieces like that 9956.It makes you think sometimes how much markup is involved with the major players. As for the Casio G shock, they have a good reputation but not my style. I ve narrowed my beater watch field to an Invicta 9937 original bezel $625.00 Aust,or a 9307 $189.00 Aust or a Tag Link Quartz Chronograph $2000.00. I really want a quartz but the 9937 is such a good buy and John's review of this watch doesn't help the descision.(the only handbrake is that it is so similar to my black Seiko divers watch) The Tag is included as I just love the newer Link series and I could kill a couple of birds with the one stone.(Strong, quartz, chronograph and a love of that watch) Cheers Aaron

A $2000 beater? Wow, you Oz's are high rollers! I'm honored to know you! Gill Even though it will be a beater it won't be abused. There is a big difference between used and abused. The great thing about the Link is that you can use a steelo pad and give it that fresh brushed look again.(Like the Seamaster clasp trick)The whole watch has the brushed look with no shiny bits. Plus Jeeves(my butler) likes polishing my watches. ;DHe finds it a change from polishing the Rolls. Tally ho old chap. Now where did I put that polo pony.

go invicta save the money don't buy the TAG! Mike, You are probably right.Do you know how tough the mineral glass is on the 9307 Invicta. If it had a saphire crystal it would be on its way right now. Aaron
