Well I have lost many hours of sleep deciding on my next Rolex. I was on the TT Blue sub kick for a while but I just can't have two of the same watch even if it's got a much different look than my SS 16610. I have always liked the look of the white dial Exp II and the YM however I think the YM is very over priced for what you get. Man I would hate to think what it would cost to replace that bezel if when it gets a dent. Rolex charges about $1000 for the new one I heard you don't get the old one back What's up with that? You get to buy it twice? Anyways, what are your opinions on the ExpII with the white dial? Good combo with a Sub?

and looking at JBH photo's it makes it tough to be negative about this one! I am going to get a Yaht myself but now you make me worry on the dent issue oh well!
The GMTII is a nice look as well!

I agree I like the GMT II a lot, I wish it came with a different color dial. I think the dial really changes the look of the watch. Don't get wrong on the YM, I think it looks great, but for $7350 retail, I could buy the Exp II amd a Broad Arrow. I love platinum on a ring but it just looks like SS on the YM. Now if they came out with a SS YM I would jump on it. SS is so much more forgiving on the bezel for those times your watch bumps something. I would kill me to look at a ding or scuff on my platinum bezel, almost as much it would kill to give Rolex $1000 worth of platinum and then buy another one from them

Actually, the platinum bezel will far outlast a SS one as platinum is a harder metal than SS. I love the YM but would only get one if I had money to burn. For the price of a YM I could get two or three watches. It's a Sub, with a platinum face and bezel. That's it. It doesn't come with the Sub diving extention either. It's a beauty, no doubt, but that's a hell of a premium to pay for a few grams of platinum. I think the ExpII is the perfect balance of sport and dress without going over the top either way. BTW, the black dial is the one you want.

I think that's an excellent combination of watches which gives you pretty maximum versatility of both style and function. The white dial Explorer II also happens to be one of the most beautiful white dial watches ever made (in my opinion of course... ). As you can see in this picture, they make a great pair!
