Hello: As much as I would like a Rolex Presidential, it is either cost prohibitive, or marriage prohibitive. ;D So either way, the Rolex is out. With that said, is there any suggestions anyone can make that is a dressy style watch (appropiate for a suit, or business casual) that has the day date function? Thanks for any suggestions!

Oh, BTW, a three letter abbreviation for the day is ok too! Thanks again.

If you're considering pre-owned, a Breitling Headwind is a fantastic option (no longer in current models). Looks fairly day-date Rolex looking.

Jacques Lemans - or even a nice Croton (currently in sales forum/lol) - Tudor, Tissot, Edox. Many, many not in the Rolex price range. The ETA 2836 movement features the day (abbreviated) and date side by side. The 2834 spells out the day. I own versions of both, but prefer the 2834

Are Tudors sold in the US? I was under the impression they were overseas only. Also, do Rolex ADs sell them? The AD I went to in the past never had any. Thanks to EVERYONE for their suggestions!!!! I read somewhere that Tudors are still marketed in Canada.

Tudors are still marketed in Canada. There's a seller by the bay (who is based in Florida) who sells them as well. You might also check out some of the used pieces at our sponsor Darlor.

Look at the Swiss Army Ambassador. Many on the bay for less than 300. Bracelet version is super comfortable. All swiss made. 100m wr. Choice of dials/ silver/black or blue. Large watch about 42mm(same size as limited edition SWI. ETA 2834/2 movement, exhibition back. Fantastic detail in the dial. Full day at 12 is allittle bit larger than my Jacques Lemans, SWI, Edox, Pronto's, Bulova's, etc. Easier to read. Great lume. Retails for about 550-650.00(strap vs bracelet). Get the bracelel version. Try it, you'll like it.
