This isn't about your favorite brand, just which one you think is best.

I would have to agree..I think they have advanced watchmaking at a much faster pace than the Swiss. But who says newer is better? I just feel they've been more innovative and at the same time match and exceed the craftsmanship and quality of alot of long time Swiss watch companies.

I was torn between Rolex and Seiko. I own them both and love them equally.
Nonetheless, I voted Rolex. The only thing wrong with them is the cost.

For me, I voted other. The perfect watch is HUBLOT with the "Big Bang". I NEVER like ROse gold until I saw the rose gold and black beauty on a bracelet. Perfection... Too bad is soooo overly expensive and overpriced... Please note I made reference to the best watch NOT watches. I could care less about Hublot's other models. The BIG BANG is perfection IMHO...

Invicta is the best for me,new styles continue to come out,no other brand is as exciting and addicting to me and I can buy frequently without going broke. To answer Boscoe's question, the Invicta Reserve Subaqua Noma with the meteorite dial is the best I've seen,I love everything about it,the quality seems better than any other watch I've seen in my opinion.

Although they may be overpriced, I don't think any of the other brands listed put as much into their watches as Patek. To me they are truly stunning timepieces. I don't think their quality can be rivaled by any of the other brands listed. Yes, they cost too much but there is a reason for that price other than just tradition. By the way, one of their watches took 3 years to design and 5 years to produce.

My vote went to Rolex as I feel they make a quality product that has stood the test of time with the sports design (specifically the Sub & SD).

Best...I guess it depends on your definition. To me the Japanese companies are best because they are the most innovative. Eco-Drive, Spring Drive, G-Shock, Solar Power. The Japanese have been dusting the swiss for awhile now. About the only thing the Swiss are innovative at is the way some companies overcharge for their brand Cache'.

Not sure why anyone would say Rolex as being the best, sure they are durable watches that keep their value over time, years ago when they first came out with the oyster design they may have been considered the best, but that was then and this is now, take it they probably have had the best marketing but surely their watches have had little innovation in recent years. As far as the best its hard to say, JLC, has to be right up their, just take a look at their complicated movements including many perpetual calenders, mechanical alarms, and gyro turbuillion. Patek for its classy designs fit and finish, and also has an assortment of complictions including perpetual calenders. Ullysess Nardin has quite a few high end complicated movements including the Freak and I can list a bunch of other watches that would rank up their with the best. I would have to say that Rolex is not even amongst the top 5 of the best watches in modern times. All in all if I had to choose what is the best watch brand without regards to price comparisons I would have to say Patek.

Wow, this is hard. But if I had to pick one, I'd say IWC for the Perpetual Calendar Portuguese. A moon phase that needs a one day correction every 577 years. Wow, that's percision...

invicta makes excellent watches for the price [the sub $200 are one of my favorites]
but for me rolex makes the best watches ever, not the most complicate or innovative,
but yes the most durable, accurate, valuable and timeless watch ever.

I assume this is for automatics. If this were digital, I would have selected Casio.

I'm going with IWC. Matter of choice in my case, more than saying which is the best brand. I think that's extremely subjective.
