Hey Y'all
I was wondering about putting together our experiences of dealers who are not WISes. I'm not saying we're more evolved folk or anything but just showing the difference and indeed how we look after our watches and they....well..........
When I wrote up about my brief encounter with the Hour Vision some weeks back, I was shown some of the pieces I wanted to examine, having patiently waited in line for a few minutes. When the manager or assistant manager approached me I asked to see initially the RG model on a brown alligator strap. I took off my Speedy Pro and placed it case side down on the soft viewing mat placed before me. The asst manager seemed to show interest in my Speedy and picked it up for further observation. Then as I was admiring the intricacies of the HV, he replaced my Speed on the mat but dial up, whereupon I re-sited the watch and proceeded with marvelling at the HV. Well said asst manager picked up my watch again and looked at the caseback and its' inscription and then promptly replaced it dial up yet again!! I resited it, explaining that the caseback could be scratched by the bracelet to which he replied, " It's sapphire so it won't scratch ". I responded " Yes that's right but the caseback surround, being metal, will ". He said no more, possibly mildly offended that I may know a little more about the watch or watch care.
Actually all the dealers I've been to, place watches dial up irrespective of the caseback and strap with the exception of the Omega Boutique at Bond Street. Your watch will be safe there.
I must be some incorrigible WIS but I'd hate someone messing with my watch!!!
Y'all have a nice day pals

Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D
