;D ;D ;D and indeed in my sKOOL days, we had to take off items of jewellery including watches when we did sport. I recall playing some sport with a friend late last year when she hinted " no jewellery ". Makes a lot of sense of course since you could damage yourself and others with items of jewellery worn during sport. I read a funny line somewhere where a member was asking about whether it would be wise to wear his X-33 when swimming with the kids. While most counseled him to remove his X-33 prior to entering water, someone responded by saying that he could damage his kids wearing his watch swimming with them. Makes a lot of sense. I always remove my watch when playing with my Godson. So amigos, do you remove watches and jewellery before sport? Talk soon pals and y'all be well now ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

This was a debate in the Rolex forum as well. Some state playing golf with the watch can alter the accuracy in the watch from the shock of hitting the ball. Some treat their watch like a museum piece. Some do not. For me, I remove the watch only when showering or sleeping. I bought the watch to enjoy it, and I have a tough time believing that striking a golf ball is going to knock the alignment out of whack. If that were the case, every time I hit the wall, bump into something accidentally, then I have to worry about the time going south.
Omega, Rolex, and others make solid watches, and I have a hard time beleiving that a bump or shock from a golf ball will knock the accuracy off. So for me, while I view my timepiece as museum quality, I treat it as a watch and enjoy it to its fullest.

I wear 3 items of jewellery, my watch, a crucifix and my wedding ring. I wear them all, all of the time except for maybe the crucifix (it has a delicate gold chain which could easily snap) when doing sports or at the gym. The only time I ever removed everything was in my kick-boxing days. Which is obvious really, not only for my own safety, but for the safety of others.

Never kicked boxes, that was too easy. 1/2" and 1" thick wooden boards were popular with us the Tae Kwon Do guys.

The only jewelery I wear is a watch and wedding band. I never have worn a watch while golfing or playing tennis and never will (don't see a need to). I used to take off my wedding ring when golfing, but due to dietary habbits, that is not as easy as once was.

I golf regularly and wouldn't ever hit a ball with my watch on. One, I don't like any jewelry on for physical activity, and two, I think the the shock from hitting the ball can be pretty significant. I have no idea how many G's are transferred to the end of the club but it's a whole lot of G's sending the ball on it's way.....even a tiny percentage of them would be huge. Guess we need a physics expert. Mike

I wear my watches most of the time. When I work in the garden I wear my ''beater'' Speedy. In the Gym I wear my Sub. These timepieces are designed and made for wearing, so that is what I do with them..

Phil Mickelson wears a Rolex (Celinni?) all the time including tournaments with apparently no ill effects. Does the force of hitting the ball transfer all the way to the wrist?? I never really felt it when I played - except when I hit the ground before the ball!
I always dis-watch before sport or playng with the young ones.

I'm a golfer and a WIS. There's no way I can be awake for 5 hours or so without a watch on my wrist. I don't wear my "good" watches when I play but I have a few that I'm not afraid to perspire on or take in the shower afterwards. I played tennis for many years until my shoulder gave out. Same deal, always wore a watch when I played. Both mechanicals and quartz, never had a problem with a watch from playing sports.

I wear my watches at all times with the following exceptions:
1. Playing with my cousins/ nephews 2. Karate 3. Sleeping
The only reason to take them off is for the saftey of the watch, not for them....LOL!!!!!!!!
