no doubt about it the 2538.20 "Great White" was the watch I absolutely had to have. I always was partial to dive watches with white dials being that my first and second dive watches were white dialed, but none since untill this, but it was only two short weeks later that I decided that this was also the one I had to have. I credit Johns picture for really capturing the spirit of this watch and enticing me to get it. diver88

My Speedy date. I swapped the original raw steel bezel for a black one. See before and after pics.

Hey Mr Ses4 Thanks for the " evolution " pictures. Your Speedy Date has an applied logo while my 3573.50 has to make do with paint The black bezel looks more the part on the watch than its' polished cousin I have to say. Did you do it yourself or acquire the services of a good watchmaker? Be well now ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

An AD close to my home did the bezel swap, but charged me a whopping $80. I'll never buy a watch from her, as she offers only token 5-10% discounts.
Anyway, after getting this Speedy date, I became fascinated with Seamasters...

Well Mr Ses4 The ex-AD near me used to charge $20 for sizing the bracelet of a watch not bought from them. Last year they upped that to $40. I guess that had I asked them to do it, they may well have demanded $80 too. Does sound a lot, doesn't it? Be well now ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

For me, it was the Bond 40th. I LOVED the gun barrel dial!!!! Never got one, so I will have to wait for the 50th.

My curiosity was raised when I heard some folk talking of the Bond watch, this led me to the Omega site and where I found a watch that really did it for me and that was the 2254.50.00. patricularly the bracelet. However The 2254.50.00 wasn't my first as I thought the electric blue might be as good, sadly no .My heart wasn't in the EB SMP IT LE Sorry, the Electric Blue Sea Master Proffessional Ian Thorpe Limited Edition. ;D I must have really liked the black SMP as the one I have now is my second one after the first was sold to fund a Rolex. Cheers

Well Aaron It would appear that you did fall off a donkey and to good effect if I may say buddy ;D ;D I recall you were overjoyed to get the IT LE. It was one of 100 I believe or something. I actually thought you kept it until you told me otherwise sometime back. Like you I did hanker after an EB as well. That was, surprise, surprise, after reading John's euphoric writing and seeing his pictures. Kept mine for14 months. It was great in the winter since in the cold, gloomy and shorter days, it was quite a pick-me-up. At the height of summer though, I found it just a shade too bright. Cheerio for now pal ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

This one, but this is where I saw it first on the Nintendo 64 game, Goldeneye 64 which was what got me hooked on Bond, and eventually Omega.

I first fell in love with a Quartz Omega SMP 200m in about 1991 and bought it straight away am not sure of the model number, but it had solid centre links on the bracelet. Since then I have always wanted a SMP Chrono and managed to afford one just recently.
