Hello JB, Welcome to WTF..... Well, you're probably not going to find many helping on this as discussions on fakes, including how to obtain & how to repair are not permitted here on WTF.... Personally, I'd say trash it & put that money you'd have used into getting a nice pre-owned real-deal.. Good luck!

Of course they're fixable...take it to a watchmaker.... But why on earth would you come to an Omega site to ask about a fake watch ..

Mr JB Welcome to WTF. As our friends here have advised, just throw it away. Fakes don't last, your money probably goes to funding other criminal activities and they cost legitimate folk their jobs. They are just not worth it. Save your money, buy a real one. Pre-loved are good value and will outlast all of us here. An Alpha which Mr Wautersjr suggested would outlast the fake too. We'll help you track down the Speedy of your dreams too if you'd like us to. You'll have to write the check though Be well ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

Thanks guys. I'm starting to think differently now. The Alpha, or maybe pre-owned Omega. Has anyone any idea of the best place to look. I'm in Ireland and some dealers are having a laugh with the prices they're asking. You mention the fakes being linked to criminals, the price of the real thing isn't exactly biblical. The mark-up is phenomenal. Even a higher end Seiko with Chrono retailing at approx Stg£400 ($815) can be picked up for half price from dealers. I have one but although a nice enough watch and good at it's job, it's certainly no Omega and I value your help. Thanks, JB

Hey JB, Well, on the Alpha I'm not sure. I'd post a message in the Japanese & Asian forum and I'll bet you'll get a bunch of feedback on them. Their website is alpha-watch.com and I think you can buy directly from them. Regarding the Omega, first I'd try the forum sponsors. You can find them on the main WTF page at the bottom. Some of those guys deal in Omega, so that's a good place to start. That auction site by the sea is another good place, if you know the dealers to look for, and stay away from. There's a couple that are really great guys & sell a bunch of pre-owned Omega's. You may pay a small amount more to those guys than other auctions, but they have thousands of customers (literally) so its a small premium to pay for a trusted seller, and you're still getting a good deal. You'll see them by the volumes of sales they have listed if you do a search... So would you be looking for the Speedmaster, or a different Omega style? Good luck in the hunt & do let us know if you have any questions during the hunt.. Look forward to seeing a new watch on your wrist soon!

There are several sources of pre-loved watches Joe. It depends on what you were looking to spend of course. Naturally an Omega will not come in at say, the mainstream of Seiko prices. Alphas are amongst some of the best value watches out there. I do not profess to know much about them but they look and feel good for the asking price which as you know is very low. New or pre-loved, quartz offer good value and are low maintenance, durable and accurate. A pre-loved quartz Seamaster would be under GBP500. An Alpha, though a different watch is a fraction of that. A pre-loved 300m SMP is in the region of GBP750 to 800 or more depending on source and condition of the watch. A pre-loved Speedy varies as well. The manual-winding Pro is more expensive than a less popular Reduced size automatic or Date model. The latter again is an auto. As a guideline, if you were to look at that place by the sea, a pre-loved Speedy Pro would cost you anything from GBP900. Remember that the price of a new example is GBP1675. What type of watch are you looking for if I may ask? Talk soon and be well pal ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

Hey guys, I have some stolen forged banknotes, anyone know where I could hide them till the fuzz is off my back??
Sorry Joe, couldn't resist have a joke.
I wear an Alpha (submariner style) most days of the week and although its not the most accurate watch (can be fast by as much as 4 minutes in a day) in the world, it has to be one of the cheapest automatics in the world. Although some people feel they are still ripping off more expensive watches, they aren't fakes and for that reason, they have way more credibility than any forgery ever will. And at an avergae cost of about £25 ($50), what's to lose?
