This just happened guys as I was making my way back to my desk!
Opened the door and my left arm swung up and crack my wrist caught the door handle and along with it my daily wearing PO.
Getting back to my desk i see that the damage is done - a couple of scuff marks to the "50 point" on the black bezel and a sense of dread fills me!

Sorry to hear that bud.... But, the good news is if it's just the insert that is scuffed, you can get the local AD to order one & swap it out for not too much. You may need to push the AD to push Omega to ship you the insert & not the whole bezel. The yahoo's here at Omega's lack-of-service center (NJ) kept telling me to get the whole bezel, not just the insert (thought they're sold as seperate pieces). Kept going back & forth with them, so don't let them tell you no. The inserts are about 60, but the whole thing is 270. I guess they were looking for extra commissions.... But, they can be had should you decide to order it.

ScottD: Can a resident of the US refuse to do business with the NJ office and go overseas or elsewhere for any Omega related concern?

ScottD: Can a resident of the US refuse to do business with the NJ office and go overseas or elsewhere for any Omega related concern? So depends on what you're trying to do. Omega (like most mfrs) won't sell parts directly to customers, you need to go thru the AD's. So you'd have to convince your AD to deal with one of the overseas locations (unlikely). The only way a consumer can deal directly with the centers is to send in the watch to be worked on. Mind you, they may or may not service it. When I went thru this earlier this year they refused to work on the watch unless I paid for everything they recommended (including a new case) when all I wanted was a few items fixed. Even though not doing what they recommended had no bearing on the operation of the watch & didn't compromise the working at all. They just wanted more $$ in my opinion. So I'd imagine yes you can as long as you're willing to pay the shipping charges overseas, and you'll probably pay a bit more as I'd assume they'll bill you in local currency which your credit card company will convert to USDs... So yes - if you're willing to pay more I guess you could. Mind you, this is all out of warranty I'm talking about as damage isn't a mfr defect...

Good sound advice Scott! I could always turn it to a positive and contemplate that my PO is my action watch on a daily basis, but that doesn't take away the pain of seeing the bezel scuffed. I think when it's due for it's service where I might send to Bienne then I may have to see what they say from there

Yup, that's one way to look at it, and ultimately the way I came about to look at mine (as I refused to give in to NJ's corporate extortion trying to make me spend over $2500 repairing cosmetics - yep, bunch of Yahoo's they are...). But I'm still very disappointed Omega doesn't see fit to fix what's wrong in NJ. I did check what it would take for me to send my PO to Bienne for service after NJ wouldn't and it'll cost about $60 each way insured, 2 weeks travel time each way & max. insurance is $2,499 so if something happened to it, I still have to cover the difference. Compared to dropping off at the local AD, this is alot of extra inconvenience, lost time & extra expense borne by me. Hopefully they'll see fit to fix NJ at some point....

I did the same to my bezel when I managed to scrape my PO along a wall. After all the stuff its been through without a scratch I actually managed to damage it walking out my front door.
Its a scratch right across the bezel and about 2mm onto the crystal. I also put a few scratches into the rear case changing the strap because I was too impatient to have it done properly.
I figured I'd live with it until it annoys me enough to change it out. I'll never sell this watch so I'm not worried about resale.

I hate to be the one to have to say this...but...
Either live with it and accept that some scratches are inevitable
-OR-
Learn to do the Zinmeister shuffle...when moving forward, the "watched" hand must always go behind your back, crystal face firmly in close juxataposition with your back or (ahem!) backside!

I've sorta accepted this as this is my "action watch" But to think I wore it non stop on a weeks holiday 2 months ago where I was on the beach, and up in the Canary Mountains with stifling heat, to knick it on a door at work is most un-impressive, but like you are all saying, it happens!
I'm sure when it goes in for its first service at Omega in a few years I will get asked what do i want done about it. Until that moment hey guys! ...
