Hi to everybody. I bought an (new) Omega GMT seamaster 2538.20. It came in a white omega box with olympic rings on the top also with the words "Official Timekeeper" instead of the usual red box I have seen. It came with the booklet and the leather card holder BUT NO CARDS. No pictograph, chronometer card, etc. Also this watch did actually come from Amazon.com and not one of their other sellers they feature.
I paid about $1522.00 for this watch. My questions are: was this a good deal? and should I be worried about the authenticity?
A response would be greatly appreciated as I am new to the whole Omega scene. Thank you.

hello and WELCOME i'd really love to see a picture of the watch and box it came in. what sort of warranty did Amazon offer or promise with your purchase. the box is a mystery to me, but i was under the impression a watch purchased from Amazon would not carry the original factory Omega warranty from Bienne and that would explain the lack of a warranty card, the others? i wouldn't be too worried about it not being authentic , when i looked at buying from Amazon the warranty was through them and 5 years was offered as an incentive along with the price. good price, warranty situations may become an issue but most likely not. these Omegas are very nice watches with a low chance of any problems IMHO. congrats on the watch could we see some pics please? again, WELCOME and come hang around with us.. ;D diver88 ;D ;D ;D

WOW Great price. CONGRATS. Post pics when you can. Frrom Mr. Houston: POSTING PICS Posting pictures is very easy. Here's what you do - 1. Register with a picture host like photobucket.com This is a free service for up to 1,000 images. 2. Once registered, use the choose or browse function on your photobucket homepage to locate the image you wish to post, from your hard drive PLEASE REMEMBER to set the maximum size of the image 800 x 600 is best Anything else would make viewing and accessing the page for users difficult. 3. Click SELECT and then UPLOAD 4. Once uploaded, simply copy the fourth option under each image on your photobucket homepage and paste it into the body of your text here. This fourth link is the Image Tag. BTW, just saw you are new to the forum. CONGRATS!!!! Stop by often, and remember, post some pics of your new watch!!!!

Hi, thanks for the replies and also the warm welcomes. I am new to uploading photos. The first picture is everything that came with the "Great White". The second is a close up of the inner box and the card holder. The third one is a picture of Seamaster 2254.50 (which was also purchased from Amazon.com for $1392.00. Notice how it came with the pictograph and chronometer cards. That is the reason I felt jipped with the GMT because I wished it would have also included the 2 cards. I saw these on Amazon.com on separate occasions and immediately purchased both. Although I am thinking it was such an impulse buy. If you could only keep one, which one would you keep?

well Mr 613, i personally would call the place where you got it and ask why you got the "different" non standard issue package with your watch and ask for the missing components. possibly order another one and see what it comes with, you can always send back the extra you don't need for a refund to your card. the box and card holder is kind of interesting though. i would assess the age of the watch by the serial number , if you can , to see it may have lined up with commemorative boxes being used for other markets. might be neat to have.. your 2254 all looks standard issue, my manual is different but everything else looks the same.. to answer your question on which one would i keep, well i hope i don't ever have to make that decision. I have both of the same watches you have and i am currently wearing the 2254 (right now). if push came to shove, i have no idea you are now officially a member of the Seamaster Owners Club, so here's your membership card. keep us apprised on what is going on with Amazon please, diver88 ;D

Mr 613 What a lovely pair and that's a great Olympics box you have there. Well whilst I gather one of them may be an impulse buy, were I in your shoes and could hang on to them both, that would be my preferred choice. If I had to choose one to keep, it would be the GMT. I like complications and the GMT is a heck of a watch. Be well now ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D
