Experts: Aside from the metal (gold, WG, Platinum, etc.) what makes the Presidential expensive? Is the movement that complicated, prestige factor, or a combination of both?

It´s just the metal. e.g. a WG Daytona is much more expensive than a WG Day-Date. So you can imagnine that a SS Day-Date would not be that expensive

Yeah, if I could get my Dad a Day-Date in Stainless Steel, with a Stainless Steel Presidential bracelet, I'd be a very happy man. Alas, I'll probably have to go WG......

Yeah Timefinder, I have to agree with John.
Yellow gold has always been a staple of the Indian community (of which I am part). I've said it numerous times: find any successful and well-to-do Indian gentleman and chances are you'll find a yellow gold Rolex Day-Date Presidential on his wrist. It's almost ubiquitous.
However, I have yet to see any of these gentlemen wearing a WG Presidential Day-Date!

Interesting. Up here, I see two tones everyone once in a while; but, never any yellow gold. Even the Exec VPs I deal with have platinum, WG, or two tone watches; however, no yellow. Maybe it is regional, or just has not caught up here yet.
Or maybe people up here do not want to pay the cost of YG at this time due to the high price.
