Hi everybody, Collected this from my AD yesterday, (Sat 24th) 1991 pre-owned (1 owner from new!) box, papers, COSC seal, service receipts, everything except the little green plastic price-tag. Serviced and refurbished in October, the bezel insert being the only replacement, but i have ordered the Pepsi insert anyway. It's all in great shape, a few little marks, nothing major really. The only thing would be the now inert Tritium dial which steadfastly refuses to glow! Then again, with a projected half-life of 12 years, who can blame it! It has retained a very clean white hue which i love. The bracelet is clearly not a fliplock, but given the amount of movement in it, it could be original. If anyone could clarify this point for me i would be very grateful. It is a 16710 with an 'E' prefix serial no. I am considering ordering the correct GMT Fliplock, but the very comfortable worn-in Oyster bracelet may win my heart!

What an outstanding example of an earlier GMT II! Made all the better with the "bits" Your dial is fantastic! I wouldn't worry in the least about the oyster bracelet as it's certainly correct for the vintage. Early GMT IIs were equipped with the oyster clasp though if you wish the oysterlock is a correct option. Some collectors disagree a bit on when the oysterlock first came to be on the GMT II, EXP II references. Some say around the U series to P series (circa 1997- 2000) My own view is that like most things Rolex both were offered at the time as phase in occured.

This watch and accessories are definitely up my alley, I am a bit envious, yet excited for you. I have made it my quest to get my grips any GMT I can find ;D. Bar-None an excellent example, thanks for sharing the photos. Respectfully, Paul

Thanks everyone, i've been wearing it all day and i just love it! Took it to show my brother-in-law who has a Sub, he was equally complimentary. Thanks Mike for the reassurance on the bracelet. I'm liking this one so much i may not go for the fliplock after all. :-)
