I guess it finally has happened. Hard to tell where the seller got it from, but this is the first one I have seen in the US. I think it is safe to say the smart way to get ahold of one is to wait and get it from you AD -Ted ADMIN NOTE: Ted - I removed the ebay link in deference to our forum sponsors.

Teddy: Thanks for posting. Please be aware that an Admin may remove the link as it is from a non-sponsor.
BTW, I agree about waiting for an AD. $8,000 is way to much!!!

sorry, John.....I forgot about the link rule. I have been on the Milgauss "watch"......I am itching to try one on. I probably will not get it though, as I am more than happy with my SS/PT YM. My next will be a Sub....maybe I will follow after a prominent moderator and get a Red one...if the wife authorizes (and I can find one).

can i ask how a link to a post of a new watch is going to effect our sponsors? I would understand if this was a link to a site that competes with our sponsors with large qty! But i do not see any sponsors that sell New Rolex on this site. Also whats the difference between the sales forum selling watches and competing with the sponsors?
Not trying to stir an argument but it seems like the link to other items on the forum is getting a little overboard. I understand the sponsors support and pay for the site but they do not own us and i think it takes away from what makes this site a great place.
It's also not like Ebay is a secret to the world.

Well Mike, why should the hard work and dollars I've invested in this site be used to promote someone's ebay auction? We've got dealers who DO support WTF through banner advertising (one of which is almost exclusively an eBay vendor). Why would they want to renew that financial support when members here post eBay links of watches for sale which compete with their own? The other issue which makes me uncomfortable with eBay is the fear that one of our members could get scammed on eBay by an auction they learned about here on WTF. I mean, the seller of that Milgaus had a wopping seven feedbacks.... Not to mention the fact that this particular auction was from a guy with 7 feebacks

It just seems like if you find something on the web like this and can't share it is tough. I can understand if he was promoting a sale but all he was doing was informing us of the Milgaus being on the market. I understand there are rules and this site has become large enough that the supporting vendors control what we say and do. Wow thats why we left the other forum! Your forum your rules! I won't break the rules because i really like this place and consider you a friend.. Now back to watches!

Timefinder - No waiting list for me....I just want to try on a Rolex with a orange lightening bolt! There are 4 ADs in my area, plus I will be traveling to NC (where I purchased my YM) over the holidays...hopefully I can find one to try on. BTW, I definately wasn't promoting the listing on the site.......sorry to cause a stir. Have a good night!

Now one accused Teddy of trying to promote the auction in question. I'm not punishing him or anyone else. I'm stimply ensuring that our paid advertisers who contribute financially to keep the lights on and the doors open are getting some value for the dollars they spend. And in case you haven't noticed, the message that the Milgaus is no the market has been communicated despite the fact that the link to the eBay auction is gone. WTF remains the friendliest and easist place on the Net to congregate and talk watches.

Besides, you should see us talk sports or politics in the community forum. ;D Seriously, no harm done. BTW, you can see the rules here (there are really not that many.) jholbrook.proboards33.com/index.cgi?board=faqThanks for posting that information. It is interesting to see when people get the "in" thing, no matter what it is, what people try to get for it, and what people pay for it. Case in point, iPhones, gaming systems, and any hot product near Christmas. Remember the Cabbage Patch kid craze back in the 80's? Now that was fun to watch. ;D Thanks for posting, and hope to still see you around.

Removing the link is not a big deal. If you want to see it, just go to ebay and type in Rolex Milgauss. That should take you almost directly to it.

I'm with John on this one....
I'd like to point out that, if you were truly interested in checking the Seabay link (and I am not), then why not just go there and do your own search, which may add about 22 seconds to your time investment? That way, John's site stays true to its policies for its sponsors, and you still get the information you seek.
And, if you really want a link, then what's the harm in sending someone a PM and asking them to share it with you???

I tried on a Milgauss about 1 hour ago, not the green crystal unfortunately or it would likely be on my wrist now! The watch does look big for 40mm, i put that down to the black dial with no bezel, so the watch appears larger than it is. The case is beautiful, and the lightning-bolt second-hand looks fantastic! The only thing that would prevent my buying it would be the polished centre links on the bracelet, i just don't like them personally, but i could probably live with them. The waiting list is short at my AD (England) for the green crystal version, i'm seriously tempted to get myself on it. The SS black dial Turnograph is definitely my next watch, but the anniversary Milgauss could be good for mid-late 2008. Watch this space!

Anyone interested in the auction link (to the guy with seven feedbacks?!?!) for a watch which will be in the ADs soon, can always send a PM to Teddy of course.
I agree it is more convenient when you can simply click a link to see what is being talked about (for those not farmiliar with that model for example); however I also see the point of John that we need to preserve the integrity of the site in general. Let it slip one, and it could easily happen again...
That's it from me...
