I recently bought a Sub too...but mine's an old one. ;D Uh oh.. Johns made a new wrist shot with the Red... ;D Humm. Looks like the weather may have turned in Ohio. Is that a jacket sleeve? ;D ;D ;D

Believe it or not Scott, that wrist shot was made standing in front of Bucherer's in Zurich (the Rolex logo on their building is in the background). ;D And yes...it was Fall weather in Zurich...quite comfortable walking around in my leather jacket.

Congrats and welcome to WTF! I would LOVE to see more photos of your Sub - looks like it has the Rolex engraving on the inner bezel - the first 16610 I've seen with it. I recently bought a Sub too...but mine's an old one. ;D

Is it the start of a transition for the 16610? Has John said, it's one of the first of this model to have the engraving. Maybe something is cooking at Rolex.

They appear to be hollow from what I can tell, but I am no expert.
I don't see why it would really make a difference though? Please enlighten me as I am still a novice to the world of all things Rolex.

If you look at a center link side ways at the edge (you might have to pivot the center link in relation to where it connects at either side) you can see whether the edge is hollow or solid. You'll be able to see through the link if it's hollow.

The 16610 has SEL's with hollow centre-links, same as the SD. My new non-date COSC Sub has the engraving but the same non SEL and hollow centre-link bracelet as the 'old' model. The inner bezel engraving is a security measure which imho also happens to look great. I don't imagine this is a transitional update, it's just that all new Rolex are arriving minus hologram, plus engraving. :-)
