Beautiful simplicity. I like the engraved caseback also.

I like the blue lume shot. Well, blue lume on the markers and green on the hands. Know what? I was about to put my foot in it when I looked at the previous thread and then investigated the Ball Museum as Foggy suggested. Now I know why the case back has a railway stamp and......and that BALL is AMERICAN See ya pals ZIN Not usually shaken nor stirred ;D ;D ;D

Great looking timepiece Foghorn, especially that lume. Ball do indeed offer great watches at great prices. It's a shame they're not available in the UK through high street sellers. Rick.

Hey Timefinder,
yup, they are Swiss made now.... As far as the company, not sure..
Foggy, is the company still a US company or was it sold to a Swiss company?

I don't know the answer, but did notice today that Old Watch has a couple of Ball Trainmaster autos from the 1960s with Swiss ETA 25-jewel movements adjusted to five places...

Pretty sure that they are 100% Swiss these days, but like Hamilton, have a decided and important American heritage.

Pretty sure that they are 100% Swiss these days, but like Hamilton, have a decided and important American heritage. If my memory serves me right, Ball is still an American Company with their production based in Neuchatel. Ball's CEO was in Singapore doing an interview with WOW (World of Watches Magazine) a while back. They are steadily building their market over here in Asia, Middle East and the US before attempting to enter the very competitive European market. Their core thrust will be their rugged high quality watches and they are not likely to introduce high complication watches so soon. They base their entire range of products on the WC Ball's history and the adventures of early explorers through the Railroads in America.
