But the Spring Drive Chronograph is nothing new. [glow=red,2,300] Pic from Europa Star[/glow] I think this Izul will be something very different...

And that's the big deal? Why change the name to Izul?

wautersjr spoiled most of what I know about this with those pics. The only additional tidbit is that something "rotates". Maybe the case, or the dail, or possibly that parallel universe stargate thing. I don't get it either, but perhaps in a few days all will be made known?
The prices are steep, so they better bring something good! Remember, this is "izul" not Credor, Grand Seiko, King Seiko, or even Prospex. This is something supposedly new altogether.
I can't wait!

Sorry about that bullandvodka ... About that rotating thing... euh... I'll just shut up, and won't spoil that one for you as well ... No worries. I'm just wanting to know what's up with this new set of offerings same as everyone else. I frankly don't know what this rotating thing is and I'm interested in learning more. Hopefully, we'll know tonight as I exploit the international dateline to peek into Japan's 25th of Oct a little early. :-)

Bart, make sure you don't spill the beans to Bullandvodka about the fact that one of the models has a rotating case!

Bart, make sure you don't spill the beans to Bullandvodka about the fact that one of the models has a rotating case! Hey, I was tipped off to the rotation. But I don't understand how that could be useful right now. If it is just a novelty then .... blah! But if there is something interesting here, I'm all ears! ----Brad

I look at them for a while and think I get what they are trying to do with these models. With the watch in the standard configuration, it looks and works like a chronograph. But if you rotate it around the crown goes to the 12 position and it looks and behaves like a stopwatch on the wrist. Do other folks find this useful? I'm sure there are some people out there that want a 3 minute egg exactly, but most of the folks I know use chronos and bezels for parking meters and the occasional dive.
This is my guess I'm going forward with until I learn Japanese. I'm not a marketer, but I'm not sure I see the demand for a $7K wrist/stopwatch. I also suspect that is why these are their own brand (so as not to hurt/dilute another brand should they prove to be white elephants). I don't know who will buy these beyond the die hard collectors, but I've been wrong before.
