good looking watch, but do they have this movement also in a real dress watch somewhere? They sure do! here are just a few. Hey, that rhymes! ;D Clicking on any picture opens a link for large, beautiful pics. I am breaking our rule for direct linking to a non-sponsor because Watch-Tanaka does not sell or ship watches outside of Japan. Site is in Japanese. 6R15 Dress Watches

next question K.W.
Do they offer this hacking, winding movement in a dive watch? It seems there is a big gap- the old reliable (but non-hacking/winding) movement, and the high-end pieces with higher prices.
Something in this ~250.00 range (street price) with this movement?
I ask because I've currently been shopping...

Boscoe and Foghorn have the 6R15 Diver. They rival Swiss watches costing three times the price in fit & finish. Best lume and smoothest bezel action bar none. These have crept up to about $450USD. [glow=red,2,300] Pics by Watch-Tanaka of Japan[/glow]

I assume these have the hacking/winding movement... next question: what if I removed the movement from one of these, and installed it into a SKX 173? Would it fit? I like the old-school design on the SKX 173, but am hesitant because I've been spoiled by a hacking movement (nice for seting the time). Also, these last models shown, are they saphirre crystal? If I had to choose, I think the basic black is the one for me... ON THE LOOKOUT!

I just realized this: even if it does fit in the case, these watches here do not have a day complication, just date. So, there'd be a big hole in the face!

Yes, the 6R15 hand winds and hacks. The dress watches with them that I linked to above have sapphire crystals. The Divers with the 6R15 have Hardlex crystals. This is probably more desirable in a dive watch. Sapphire is more likely to shatter on impact, and you wouldn't want that down at 100m!
