Well people, I've been thinking about this one for awhile. Let see some comparisons with regard to Quality and performance vs dollars spent comparing Japanese watches to all others... I.E. case, bracelet, crystal, crown, performance, longevity, accuracy, ergonomics, aesthitics, and etc. Would like to see some real discussions here without causing hard feelings... Retail price vs retail price...

I'll start the ball rolling and pick the obvious choice, Seiko. Everything about them screams quality to me and of course they are reliable and affordable. I would like to one day be able to afford some of the brands I see talked about here, but find it hard to believe that there are watches that are really a hundred or maybe even a thousand times better according to the price.

I would agree; they just can't be THAT much better; but, then, there are several of those expensive watches that I sure like!!! someday!!!

When I look at my collection and think how much I paid for each one of them, I can't help but think my Seiko divers are the best for the money. They get the least amount of wrist time, but they still seem to be the best value. Another that comes to mind is my Oris TT1 Diver, but that's for another forum.

If your going Japanese I would go with Seiko or Citizen everytime. Oh yea don't forget the Invicta Japan which is of course a Citizen made movement.
